Not A Pair Of Micro Cubes
I've only had my "Street" for a week, but I have formed my opinion. I've owned a Roland Micro Cube for nearly 2 years. I was moderately pleased with its limited capabilities & have done a couple street corner solo shows with it. I had thought that the new Cube Street was simply a pair of Micro Cubes housed in a single chassis. I was wrong. The improvement in sound quality and versitility of tone for the guitar is striking, as is the additional decibel level. I play with backing tracks, and this new unit recreates the stereo field and the recorded mp3 quality much better and louder. The PA path is quiet and meaty. . .a totally unexpected surprise (I know "meaty" when I hear it. I own a Bose PAS). I had been planning on taking it to the street with the Micro. Now, I'm thinking of just leaving the Micro at home. Awesome job, Roland!

Roland Cube Street
Nice, nice portable pa system. We wanted a small portable PA for small and quick gigs. We're a duo with female vocals and I play electric and acoustic guitars. I didn't want to also bring along a guitar processor and this unit solved that problem. The guitar models on this thing are really nice, I picked a amp model, adjusted the gain, bass, mid and treble and I couldn't believe what sweet amp sounds it produced. I couldn't stop playing! I put the batteries in the unit and jammed for like an hour straight.
The mic channel is nice and clean with built-in reverb and delay. We will use
for small gigs and impromptu perfomances like poolside cabanas, coffee houses, small lounges.
This unit is very light at 11lbs and it could almost fit in a shoulder gig bag. It has built-in chromatic tuner, there's something else I don't have drag along with me.
We'll keep the main big pa system we have for the larger gigs, but it sure is nice to go ultra-light when you want to.
