I bought this guitar because of the price mainly. My intent was to get an inexpensive guitar for practice to take with me when i travel in my tent trailer, and sit out on the back porch or in my garage while working around the house(something i would not be upset if it got a scratch or two on) while keeping my more expensive stuff safe in the house. I was Surprised at how nice it sounds, the feel, and the way it stays in tune. It suits the purpose i bought it for and then some. It is a much better guitar than i was expecting. Update: I have had it now for about 6 months and still just as happy with it as when i first got it. Cannot believe the value for the money. My grandaughter likes it too. She asked me to teach her some when she visits. Purchased another one today for her birthday.

I stopped at Guitar Center and picked up some Black Friday specials early. The San Marcos, California store had 6 Kohala painted ukes - 2 blue, 2 pink and 2 purple. I purchased the 2 blue ones. They are playable and tune up easilly. Steer clear of the Rogue Acoustic Guitar Pack, if you are not used to setting up and working on instruments. The saddle at the bridge is soft and so is the nut at the headstock. I will be replacing both. The strings are brittle. I snapped the E, A, D and G strings before they even got close to pitch. Since I stock up on guitar strings when they go on sale for about $2 bucks a set, I just put on a complete new set of strings. The intonation all the way up to the octave is fine and the action is about right, so I will shape the new saddle and nut similar. It came with a pitch pipe, picks, truss rod allen wrench and a chord chart. The gig bag is thin and provides minimal protection. This not the same quality of an instrument as the nicer Rogue D100 I own.

Stay in tune.

Comments about Rogue RD80PK Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar Pack:

I have owned this guitar for about a year now. It stays in tune after you get the new strings stretched out. I bought it to take with me when i travel in order to keep my vintage ones at home and safe. It has become my go to guitar when i practice. I am very pleased with it for the price. Just bought another for my grandaughter. Right out of the box i tuned it and it sounded great. Highly recommend!

Very happy

By Dean Lang

Comments about Rogue RD80PK Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar Pack:

I've had this guitar package for a few weeks, and I'm very pleased with it. Regardless of the inexpensive price, this package offers very satisfactory quality in terms of materials, good construction, and decent action. The accessories aren't anything special, but for only $10 more, it would be foolish to pass up on the package versus the stand alone guitar. I can't understand the 1 star review, especially when one looks at the numerous 5 star ratings of the guitar alone. As indicated, the materials are very acceptable and the finish is quite pleasing, especially the rosewood fret board and bridge. The great thing about Guitar Center is, if you don't like it, return it. I'm keeping mine...

Good For The Price

By Jay Landry

from Denver, CO

Comments about Rogue RD80PK Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar Pack:

This is an inexpensive starter guitar. We purchased it used and it was fine. This was for my Father, who is using it for stroke therapy. I would not suggest it for anyone who is going to play this long-term. Invest in a better one, but for the rank beginner, it will serve you well.

Comments about Rogue RD80PK Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar Pack:

I have never played a guitar before. I like that it is a set of many useful items, not just the guitar. It seems to be a good beginner guitar from the price. I would recommend for a beginner since a lot of items are included: guitar, case, picks chord chart, tuning tool, Allen wrench and extra strings and more.
