I guess you could call me a "professional musician" as I get paid to play some small venues, but I enjoy just hanging around a campfire and jamming with friends. I bought this guitar 3 years ago with the mandolin. I wanted to get into the mandolin field and figured why not get a guitar with it for a few extra bucks? I was blown away by it. After 3 years of heavy use as a campfire bandit it is still as awesome as it was when I first played it. It still stays in tune and it can take a beating. I have dropped it a few times and it has gained a few battle scars, but nothing serious enough to need to have repairs done or replace it. If you are looking for a nice guitar for dirt cheap, get this one. When it comes to tone and sound, most of that is on you. You could have a $5,000 guitar and a $10,000 set up and it could still sound like doo-doo if you don't have a strong sense of the guitar. You need to build your own sound/tone. I can play any guitar and still have my personal sound so why spend a bunch of money on a guitar when this one works just as well. *I have been playing guitar for 10+ years and play around 70 shows a year.

I've been playing guitar for 5 years, and I've had this guitar for about 2 years. This is my only acoustic guitar right now due to a lack of funds, and being a more intermediate player, I do need a new guitar. This guitar is great for beginners, extremely durable, sounds good for a beginners guitar, but as you progress it will leave some to be desired. I don't like how it looks, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder I guess. After 2 years, I must say that this guitar has held up very well, and is great for beginners, but as you get better I would suggest buying a new guitar

Good entry level guitar worth the money.

Comments about Rogue RD80 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

I went into Guitar Center last Sunday just looking to see what they had and after seeing this online on Music 123 and Musicians Friend didn't expect to see it in Guitar Center.Well I did and after reading alot of good reviews about Rogue guitars decided to try it out. Well everything the reviews said is true. It sounds and plays great really easy with low action and a really nice warm sound to it. The finish is nice gloss. Granted that it is a laminet but a good all around guitar this was the first Rogue I have ever played and am very impressed with the quality.Tuners seem good and no sharp fret ends either.Anyone looking for a cheap guitar this one will fit the bill don't pass this one up.No it's not a Martin or Taylor but very good for the price.

Great for beginners!

Comments about Rogue RD80 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

I think this guitar is AMAZING! It's perfect for anyone who wants to learn how to play and doesn't have a whole lot of cash. The stings stay tune for a pretty long time. I'm only thirteen and, so far, this guitar has been awesome. So, if you're going to buy a guitar for your teen, mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, anyone, this is perfect for beginners.

Comments about Rogue RD80 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

Took it out of the box, tightened the truss rod, and this thing is perfect. Dead flat neck, without a hump or a lump anywhere. Can't find a high fret ( I've tried). Maybe not the prettiest guitar ever, (has a few knots in the top) but, I could care less. Whatever kind of wood the fret board is made of, I like it.

      what a pleasant surprise!

Comments about Rogue RD80 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

I bought this Rogue RD80 as a present for my granddaughter's 14th birthday. I checked it out at the store and decided that it was a decent enough guitar for a beginner. When I got it home, I tuned it and played it for a short time. It sounded pretty good for a $90 guitar. After letting it sit over night, I tuned again and adjusted the neck a little. That thing has a real nice action now and sounds really good! Of course it's not the equal of a Martin, Gibson, or any other high end guitar, but you can't wrong spending 90 bucks for this little beauty!

          Very nice!!

          By Patrick Sharp

Comments about Rogue RD80 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

I have been playing guitar for almost 4 years now, and after selling an old acoustic of mine a few years back, I picked up the Rogue RD80 about a month ago at my local Guitar Center in Fairlawn Ohio. the guitar was very comfortable to me and prodused a nice clean classical sound that had me and some friends stunned upon playing. For the price range, nothing can come close to the warm, comforting sound of this beauty.

I might not know that much about a guitar yet but if you plan on buying a cheap guitar for travel or just starting to play guitar. I recommend this guitar! Its light weight and pretty durable. It stays in tune pretty well too! And the sound is pretty good for the price!
