I bought this guitar to be able to take places like camping, picnics, group jams and not worry about it. I was pleasantly surprised. It was beautiful looking guitar with a natural finish. No blems at all. The sound was rich although plugged in a little trebly but a few adjustments and it sounded great. I did do a set up on the guitar. I started with filing a few of the fret edges that were not very smooth. The neck arrived straight as an arrow. I had a single high fret and I filed that down until all frets were level. I did lower the action by sanding the saddle and the nut. The very low action now allows playing like a dream. I was able to lower the action so a quarter will not fit under the first fret on the low E string, no buzzing at all. The guitar comes with a compensating saddle!!! That is great! I replaced the stock strings and that really brightened up the sound...I find it interesting people complain about having to tune it a lot?? I tune every guitar I play before I play it....after replacing the old strings with good ones and allowing them to stretch the guitar stays in tune for hours even after hard play. Plugged in it sounds great...just tone down the treble on the pre-amp. I am impressed with this guitar for the price...really nice....It is a full dreadnought with that full sound. People say you get what you pay for...yea I get that but I have played 3K Martin guitars that were not impressive and needed just as much work setting up...all things equal...guitar size, same wood and correct specifications the physics come in to play and the sound is equal....Buy this guitar with confidence. Guitar Center gives you a 45 day return policy if you get a bad one take it back...my opinion avoid the insurance that the sales staff pushes...it will cost more than the guitar...unless you are super hard on your stuff tossing in the trunk with out a case! I really like this guitar, just plan to do a set up (as required by all guitars) Used youtube to learn each step.

The product arrived on time and in one whole piece but one of the frets was too high & made a buzzing sound. And the guitar itself had a couple small scratches, both which can be fixed with a specialist, so I wont be returning it. But I did order a guitar that was supposed to be brand new. Aside from that, It's a good product, it plays well on both amp & unplugged.

Comments about Rogue RA-090 Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I'm taking lessons 10 months now and once a week play together with other students. This guitar feels nice, I like the built in tuner and controls. The only thing some of the electrical wires are hanging loose inside, taping them against the body would be better.

I wanted an acoustic guitar that I could plug into my sound board in order to get a more direct tone when recording, free from room acoustics and the hassle of having to mic it to achieve the same effect.

Comments about Rogue RA-090 Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

The instrument was pack well, and arrived with no damage noted. Kudos to UPS! I have not touched a guitar to play in public, for about 20 years. It was nice to have one that I could actually play. String action is excellent, I can play this without my left wrist hurting. Right now, I'm in "practice" mode, and will attempt the other uses checked, after a bit more practice. I have a Fender Frontman amp that I can plug it in to. It sounds great there. I have seen some acoustic/electrics sacrifice tone, usually on the acoustic end. Tone is great on both the acoustic and the electric ends. The only down downside I hae seen is that the tuner could use an instruction sheet.

Very, very impressed! I have played Martin's, Ovations, and Gibson's that have paled in comparison! Great job Rogue for producing a really splendid Instrument for the beginner, novice, and professional to enjoy! I especially like the "Glassy over tones"! Makes this instrument perfect for covering Folk Rock melodies and Rock Country tunes! The action is perfect and the electronics are on point! I will be using this as my primary axe for a while! Thanks again Rogue!
