Rogue slide guitar

By Jeff Davis

from Southern Indiana

A very well made product for the price. The plastic nut is a little worrisome and could be snapped if hit with a heavy brass slide. I will probably replace it with a brass nit if I can find one from a parts supplier. The guitar sounds great with moderate overdrive and a little heavy on reverb. The pickup is lacking in "blooming" and you will have to crank the bass end on your amp a little bit. Tuning hints: For hillbilly bluegrass tune to open E. For blues? rock tune low to high: G B D G B D which is a mongrel G chord. Don't try to play pentatonic scale. Use the relative Major.....

ok as a starter lap steel guitar . cheap nut cheap pots and weak pickup and plan on replacing the strings . 1st thing I did was to replace the nut with a metal one next replace the pickup & pots and last a set of strings 12s . now it sounds great . plug it into a tub amp and wow .

Almost perfect!

By Joe Canzoneri

from Huntley,Il.

The Rogue EA-3 Lap Steel Guitar with Stand and Gig Bag bundle is amazing. The instrument is sturdy, good looking and stays in tune MUCH better than other Rogue guitars I have owned. The stand is simple but effective and I like that it is infinitely adjustable. The gig bag is great and feels like it will do a fine job of protecting the instument and last a long time. The reason I call the bundle almost perfect is that I feel that if you are going to offer a package this complete, then toss in the necessary picks, steel and, most of all,A MANUAL TO AT LEAST SHOW TUNINGS! There is next to nothing on the internet as far as instruction for the TRUE BEGINNER. SO,if you already have an idea how to play steel 6 string-there is no better deal for you! HOWEVER,if you are a raw beginner,DO NOT expect to put this thing together and start jammin cuz it is WAAAY more compicated to play than just flipping your 6 string on it's back and playing slide
