Comments about Rogue 6-String Banjo:

I've played guitar all of my life. My dad was an excellent banjo player; I've picked up the banjo a little bit, but wanted to get that banjo 'sound' without learning a whole new chord structure and picking style. Hence, the banjitar! It's super fun and easy to play. Doesn't sound half-bad either. There are high-dollar models out there, but you can't beat this for the money. The high-end tones come through loud and clear, but the low tones don't have nearly the punch. If you're looking for guitar-type low tones, you're not gonna get it.. it sounds like a banjo should though.

I would say the biggest drawback I've experienced with it is the intonation. (goes sharp on higher frets.. also may sound good when you play a G or D chord, but out of tune when you play an E). I've found that the bridge placement greatly changes this though, and has been much better since I moved it a little closer to the string base. I would highly recommend this to anyone that's interested. It's made me start playing a lot more lately, and my kids love it too.

One last side-note, give the strings time to stretch. It will go out of tune the first several times you play it. Pretty natural for any new strings, but this set is especially so. Also, the strings will leave a black/gray residue on your fingers the first several times you play it. It comes off easily though and doesn't do it after that. Enjoy!

Comments about Rogue 6-String Banjo:

This is a great instrument for any guitar player who wants to add a little zip to their set. It took me a few songs to get used to the sound, but once you do you will continue to find spots for it your performances. The Rogue 6-string banjo arrived within three days of purchase and I opted to pick it up at the local Guitar Center, which turned out to be a big bonus. The guitar tech helped me set the bridge correctly and I was off. Good value for the money and fun to play.

Comments about Rogue 6-String Banjo:

have to loosen the strings to put the bridge on, you are likely to break a string trying to put it on your self, may be different if you get a music shop to put it on

Comments about Rogue 6-String Banjo:

Very nice 6-string banjo/banjitar, especially considering the low price, under $200. If you have never positioned a bridge and adjusted the action on a banjo, either get someone to help you or look online for info. Quick tips: Measure the distance from the nut to the 12th fret, Then place the bridge that distance from the 12th fret onto the head. That will get it pretty close to the right spot. After tuning up to correct pitch, check string height between first string and fret at 12th fret. Around 1/8" is good. Otherwise, remove the back (4 screws) and slightly turn the long bolt until the string height is right.
