• Great Mandolin for the price

  This whole entire package is a great deal if you are looking to pick up mandolin for the first time. I had been playing guitar for a 4 or 5 years and I wanted to branch out so I got this. When it first arrived the body was absolutely gorgeous. I would suggest purchasing new strings right away though. The lowest string was completely dead. And I would also make sure it is completely in tune. I took mine to a guitar shop and they fixed the bridge placement for me free of charge. After doing those two things it sounds absolutely great. I am very happy with it and I havent been able to put it down. The books are decent as well. Just your basic learn how play books but for me they have helped.

  I ordered the black one & its looks beautiful. The tuners seem to work well & are much better quality than I expected. I play banjo & guitar, & have a little (very little) mando experience, but this sounds great. It has a clamshell type tailpiece that looks nice too, but I won't know more until I change the strings. The only deficiency I can find in this one, is lack of stain on the inside portion of the soundhole. The case is decent too. The only thing I would do different, would be to order the one with the strap instead of the instruction book, because I play more by ear .Seems to be a great value.
