• Outstanding Slide

  This slide is great, but it has to broken in. The reviewer who complained about string noise was right, but this smoothes out with use and becomes very musical. Unlike most slides where what you get is all you get, this one improves with use. It doesn't have the sustain of a heavy slide but why would it? It's a thin walled ceramic slide. Tonally it is more complex and clear than any metal or glass slide I've tried, and there is plenty of volume and great response to touch and playing technique. I use this on a steel bodied National and it is perfect for Delta Blues. This slide but it needs to be coaxed into optimum performance but if you take the trouble you will not be disappointed. In fact you may be spoiled for any other slide.

• Bad Slide Piece

  I bought this slide because I love playing blues and especially acoustic "delta" slide blues, which is why I purchased this. However this doesn't warrant paying almost twenty dollars for. The tone and everything on it is fine. The problem is that it is made out of ceramic, and the slide I received had little, tiny indentations in the slide itself. So every time you use this slide, it catches and makes a scratchy noise going over the strings. Instead of focusing on what I'm playing, I have to constantly spin the slide on my finger to avoid the strings coming into contact with the little indentations in the slide. Not only that, it's not very loud. The tone is nice, but it's very difficult to even hear, atleast almost impossible on an acoustic. Also, the sustain is very minimal on this also. If you want to play acoustic slide, get a brass slide, they sound alot better and they're 1/3 the price of these ceramic slides.
