Also try Bass 3:00-5:00, high at 12:00, mid level at 10:00, mid freq at 5:00, just the BEST heavy punch in the face gain box. Extremely good for chugga, chugga metal rythmns and power chord heavy. Most Dists are too fizzy and thin. Some have more gain than this box but too much is a washout over gain. This has a different unique voice dark dist. You can adjust it to taste or no tatse as the case may be.
Simply THE BEST heavy distortion. If you are tired of the tinny fizzy boxes this is the one. Does everything I liked about the Keeley Mod Zone but has more bottom, articulate w no washout. Extremely intense and can be adjusted for all sorts of tones. Bass on 3:00, High on 10:00, mids on 10:00, Dist up, and excuse me but too much dark heavy distortion, is that possible? Leads sound great, clarity, and balls. I dig it/ Picked this one after like 12 others. It was the one I was looking to find. Intense, heavy lows, and just tone. DO not understand the complaints, I have none.
I love this pedal! Works great with a Carvin tube amp and a Les Paul! Never had a problem with it. Make sure you've got the bass down a little though.
This pedal is built solidly. The switches and knobs are great, and there are plenty of options. My only problem with it? Mud! Mud city. This thing has way too much bottom end. It's boomy, and just plain out too 'thick'. It doesn't sound very metal when you're playing underwater and burying your bassist in the mix since you have more bass going on than HIM! I will admit... This pedal is amazing for certain types of metal. But for anyone playing your typical metal, I have to advise you to go elsewhere. This thing is just way too muddy.
