This pedal completely sucks your tone dry if you use high gain. I went into GC with the intention to buy this pedal, and walked out with an ISP decimator. The ISP has an amazing buit-in noise reduction system with an adjustable gate. I'd recommend the ISP over the Rocktron any day.

Didn't work at all for me.

By Robert Postic

from Dearborn Heights, MI

I bought this pedal hoping it would get rid of the noise that was caused by the single coil pickups on my new Telecaster. Well it certainly cancelled the feedback. And the guitar, the effects, and the amp. No noise came through at all. LOL Sometimes a few crackles would be heard but that was about it. I played around with the settings, pedal configurations, etc. and eventually I got it to where it would kind of work, but then it created its own feedback that some other reviewers are referring to. I returned it within a few days with no hassle from GC at all, and bought the Electro-Harmonix Hum-debugger which works wonderfully.

Good

By Jerry

i really recommend it for someone who's just practicing, but not for gigs, but at the same time it depends on your set up, for me i would only use it for practice because i always have to mute my strings because the buzz happens even though i have my hush pedal is on, it's good for certain types of situations

maybe too good for some

By Chaun Benfield

from Granite Falls, North Carolina

Rocktron products are good as well as some others. I purchased the Rocktron Hush pedal a couple of weeks ago and I would say that this pedal works too good for my current setup. What I mean by too good is not only does it take the noise out but with my rig it also takes out most of my volume. Until I used this pedal, I had never turned my amp almost wide open to hear it. I need to upgrade in the near future to a better amp and setup.

Rocktron Hush Pedal

By DD

from South Central Oklahoma

Pedal does what is described. Throw away included battery. Went down first 30-40 minutes. Blue power indicater light does not seem to give any indication of battery condition. Unit will start making a "Motor Boating" sound when battery reaches run down condition. Still think it is a five star.

HUSH >>>>> ALL YOU HATERS!

By John_gifted

from Miami, FL

To start off I'm extremely picky when it comes to my tone and what is on my board. Now here is some info everyone should know. Guitar Player Magazine wrote that the ?HUSH Pedal will work for all guitar-related noise problems: it?s perfect? and ?its potent noise-killing abilities will be fully appreciated.? Simply plug the HUSH in after distortion boxes, wah-wahs, noisy vintage effects, or other noisy units. The funny thing about this would be that i hate everything that Rocktron makes. And guess what? I love the HUSH.

At least it looks cool

By all 4 JC

That's about it though. It does cancel out some of your buzz but it also cancels out some of your tone. I bought it yesterday and I'll be taking it back tomorrow and exchanging it for the Boss which is supposed to be waaaaaaaaaaaaay better.

Awesome pedal

By Doubleshot87

from Hanford, CA

I had bought this at guitar for like 29 right after it jumped up. It's a great pedal silence the noisiest of amp the only bad thing is if you crank your amp up for a louder practice, if you have a high gain pedal such as a MXR Double shot or Boss Metal Zone it doesn't cut the feedback very much so you have to constantly mute your strings. Although it doesn't kill your town even if you crank it all the way over.

Not Bad

By Ghost No. 7

from Tempe, AZ

It's not entirely that bad a pedal. Actually reading the intructions and adding it to the end of your chain really works to cancel out noise in combo with a BOSS Metal Zone Mt-2. I picked this up recently and at first it messed with my tone a bit but change your amp settings and you'll get it back and you don't really need to turn it up that much. Keep the pedal's volume down and it still cancels out the majority of the noise. depending on what you have around it to it will pick up certain frequencies and make a beep noise. it did it everytime i got a text message on my phone =)
