Deadly 3-D distortion delivers that huge rectifier flavor.

With a monstrously heavy sound, the Rocktron Zombie Rectified Distortion Pedal creates an asymmetric distortion with user control of the symmetry balance of the distortion output waveform. In essence, this creates the psycho-acoustic 3-D sound positioning effect that will make your sound jump out of the cab. The Zombie gives you distortion that cuts through the mix, plus a 2-band EQ.

The Stare control increases and decreases distortion symmetry. The Scream control adjusts the rectified distortion. The Louder control adjusts the overall output of the Zombie pedal. The EQ section includes Bass and Treble controls.

The Zombie effects pedal is a great choice when used with an all-tube guitar amplifier to deliver rectified distortion. It can take a plain-sounding tube amp and produce rectified distortion that rivals the sound of the most expensive amplifiers. This monstrously heavy sound will cut through the mix and deliver amazing tone! The Zombie features Rocktron's easy-access battery compartment to make changing batteries during a gig a breeze.

  • The Zombie is a monster.

As reviewed by Joey on 4/21/2009

After 14 years of playing, I've finally found the perfect tone for me with the Rocktron Zombie Rectified Dist. This little box has some big mean cajones on it. And I promise I'm not getting paid by Rocktron. Like everybody else in Texas, I play Fender Strats, running into the DB-01 Crybaby From Hell, into the Boss DS-1, which I use as an overdrive/chorus, into the Zombie, and out of the old-school Peavey Transtube Bandit 112 (before the redesign). I can get some seriously aggressive, nasty tones: Perfect for anything from the Ramones to Pantera. I've been through quite a few distortion boxes, but the Zombie is the most impressive, especially for the price. It has a very clean, crispy crunchy bite, and one can go from rhythm to lead with relative ease. If you like harmonic squeals, this is just right. With all that said, I gave it four out of five because it can be pretty high-ended, and may require a bit of tinkering before it is tamed. Aside from that, it's great, and have been playing my fingers off since the day it arrived on my doorstep. I love it, but I doubt my neighbors are very happy with me...

  • Zombie VS "crunch" distortions

As reviewed by Angelo Dorotan on 5/31/2012

I was looking for distortion with a full sounding tone and away with the usual metal pedals that sound very thin. be warned though, this pedal may have alot of hum, especially with my setup which i use with ng p-90 guitar. tone wise, the stare knob may be useless or useful depending on situations and what you want as your tone, which is highly necessary if u gig at different places. i cannot explain it in words but you should try how it feels and sound like. with this price range, the competition all sounds alike, with sound settings from bluesy to country rock and to harsh proco like sound. if you want versatility and sound unique, this is the pedal for you, for anythng else specific. others may do the job

  • Zombie Rectified Distortion

As reviewed by OCTAVIO RODRIGUEZ on 3/14/2012

Rocktron Zombie Rectified Distortion, is the best sounding distortion if you want, depth- a wade, thick, and sonically absorbent, anger- very abrasive, heavy back end, sustain, and precision in your sound or tone. It is amazing. I am definitely happy I am an owner of this pedal. My friends have been searching, forever, for a punchy, thick, and angry distortion to implement in their rigs and have had no luck. They are missing this guy. I am blown away by its capabilities. The "stare" feature is amazing! You can use it up in your face, creeping up behind you, or completely surrounding you like a swarm of zombies after your brain. This pedal can really do anything you want it to, from- fuzz, sustain, rectified distortion, ambient crunch, grizzly, beefy chainsaw action, or even just a super gained boost. F*ing GREAT! This pedal will be the new lost relic that everyone wants in 20 years, after they stop making it, of course. Enjoy this pedal. It is definitely an asset to your arsenal, and a lethal weapon in the right hands. It needs no specific genre to attach itself to, as it needs no introduction to one. All it needs is a cable, guitar, and speaker. Crank this guy up! ePeace.
