After 14 years of playing, I've finally found the perfect tone for me with the Rocktron Zombie Rectified Dist. This little box has some big mean cajones on it. And I promise I'm not getting paid by Rocktron. Like everybody else in Texas, I play Fender Strats, running into the DB-01 Crybaby From Hell, into the Boss DS-1, which I use as an overdrive/chorus, into the Zombie, and out of the old-school Peavey Transtube Bandit 112 (before the redesign). I can get some seriously aggressive, nasty tones: Perfect for anything from the Ramones to Pantera. I've been through quite a few distortion boxes, but the Zombie is the most impressive, especially for the price. It has a very clean, crispy crunchy bite, and one can go from rhythm to lead with relative ease. If you like harmonic squeals, this is just right. With all that said, I gave it four out of five because it can be pretty high-ended, and may require a bit of tinkering before it is tamed. Aside from that, it's great, and have been playing my fingers off since the day it arrived on my doorstep. I love it, but I doubt my neighbors are very happy with me...
I love this thing. I have played many other distrotion pedals, and have bought many others, and I use this 90% of the time. You can get an insane crunchy sound out of it. This thing can handle just about any type of metal. Awesome pedal.
