  • Nice Gear!

As reviewed by Adam McLean on 12/21/2012

Great product. Lots of parameters (too much coming from a "I just want to turn knobs and play" kinda guy...) I use it primarily for the Speaker Simulators. And man is it a great piece of gear with which to record. I found an old Rocktron Phantom Cab years ago and it was pretty damn good. I wanted to find an updated version without a preamp section and the Xpression answered the call. The Speaker Simulators work wonders with my Engl e530 and my ISP Theta Preamp. I really like the Chorus and the Delays as well. The Reverb is pretty good, but I don't think Lexicon quality... close. I found mine used and couldn't be happier. Seems to be very durable and the silver face and blue flashing light is very fun for me.

i just got this little bad boy a few days ago, and the stock presets are really good. Although i still havent figured out how to make my own sound on preset 128 heh, ill read the manual later. I plugged this neat toy into my effects loop and the delays and choruses were just so rich. I could actually hear every note. For the price and for what it puts out, this is a great investment. Im Happy !!

Do not buy this thing. It can have a good sound with enough tweaking, but do not expect your original full tone to come through. It seems to suck the strength of the signal down significantly. I've tried everything that i could think of to not get that result. Its built cheaply. Two knobs have stopped working. With out the MIDI mate i couldn't use it at all. I baby my all of my equipment. The power has cut off suddenly a couple of times.
