The Rocktron VG05 is a battery powered 5W mini combo amp with great tone total portability. Includes a distortion switch and the Rocktron Velocity VSG3 Custom Voiced speaker. I got this amp about 4 months ago and its been great. Its plenty loud, especially for a battery powered amp. If you are looking for extremely clean sound you probably wont be satisfied, but then again you probably shouldn't be buying a $25 amp. Its worth putting a good batery in this unit, it will sound a lot better and get cleaner tones. The amp tends to distort more and more as the battery wears out, but that is to be expected. The Distortion is REALLY distorted but by adjusting the tone and volume it can be worked with. It's really a fun amp I clip it on my guitar strap and there is no avoiding me, I can annoy anyone and everyone now.
I bought this because I was being Joe Satriani for Halloween and I wanted to walk around with my Ibanez. But goodness, this thing is garbage. I mean I wasn't expecting much when I ordered it, but seriously even if you only want it for 1 day like I did, don't bother. It isn't loud (what do you expect for 5 watts?), and the clean channel sounds terrible. If you want something portable look elsewhere.
I think that this is perfect for the situation in which I find myself. Thin walls stationed in Iraq, I can plug my headphones in and start!
