Good considering the price...

For the money, this is a good headphone amplifier unit. The headphones that come with the unit are lousy. Replace them with good headphones and you will be set for rockin' out. The distortion effect is great on heavy setting but is almost not noticable on semi setting. I do not get the "Boston" sound from the unit like the old Scholz model from the early 80s but considering the cost, it is a great little practice amp. The construction of the amp box is solid and lightweight. Some people complain about the hiss but once I replced the headphone with a middle grade set that I already owned, the hiss is mostly gone. Keep in mind the price of the unit and you will be satisfied with it...

Leave You Wishing for More

Great idea, but wish there were something between "clean" and "semi-distort". Also, not enough of a difference between "semi" and "distort". One is "dirty" and the other is "filthy". I wish there were a nice warm "fat" in there somewhere. Think of a stream of warm milk. You can't dial up that tone here. However, nothing to prevent you from using your other effects between the guitar and the Rockman. Very convenient and still a good buy. If they tweek it, it will cost 100 beans.
