Not that good

By Ok

It doesn't really teach you technique, mostly COB rifs and licks it does teach full solos. All he does is slow speed and normal and then a backing track

Great DVD

By VulgarDisplayOfPower

from Nashville, TN

I was in GC Nashville the other day to check out the new ESP line when I decided to check out some of the instructional DVD's to improve my playing. Naturally, when I saw that Alexi was teaching in one, I figured that it would be right up my alley. When I got home, the first thing I noticed was that he doesn't break things down, note by note and make it a 15-hour DVD. He just plays it slow, normal, and then with the backing tracks, leaving you to work out the best way to play it (there is a tab book included.) It's also nice that he isn't just teaching licks: He's teaching concepts. A great way to learn the styles! However, a word of warning: This IS an advanced DVD and should not be purchased by a novice metal player. Anyone looking to pick up metal guitar should get the Level 1 DVD (still Alexi teaching). But, if you're experienced, I'd recommend it for sure. Get it and watch yourself grow!
