This game is for fun, i play guitar i have played for about 3.5 to 4 years now, I'm not great but i know I'm good, and i have this game and i play it at least once a day after work when i have the time. Basically this game is fun, its a very good game to play with 2 or more people, the more people the more fun it gets, its very social, it is comparable to guitar hero but i feel GH has nothing on this game, the unique thing about this game is mainly the drums, they pretty much make this game, also they are closer to the real instrument then any of the other instruments
Rock Band is quite possibly the most fun I've ever had sitting in front of a television. I've heard a lot of self-proclaimed "real musicians" complain that it just lets talentless losers be virtuosos. In fact, the game is just a game, and not meant to circumvent the years of practice it takes to get that good on a real instrument. As an avid drummer and guitarist of several years, I can say that my friends who are incredible at this game still respect my skill as a musician... and for those of us who play the real thing, on the harder levels it can actually be good practice for certain concepts like meter, stamina, finger strength and speed, etc... so before you knock it, open your mind and try it.
