Always check proper fitment! I received this case for Christmas, accompanying an Ibanez RG7420 which had to be special ordered and shipped to the store. When my family picked them up from the store, they were given the guitar and case in their requisite shipping packaging. Only once home, did we find that the guitar does not fit. There is not enough depth in the case to allow for the angled headstock. The tuner closest to the tip digs into the bottom of the case, and the neck is still a quarter inch away from resting in the case as it should. Upon visiting the Guitar Center closer to my home, and comparing the same model guitar in the more common color, it wouldn't fit any of the cases they had in store, and apparently I will need to order the proprietary case direct from Ibanez. This is still a nice case, and I plan on finding a nice 6 string with a flat headstock, or perhaps just one that is not as long. If the tuners were arranged side-by-side, it might work even with an angled headstock... I am disappointed that the Guitar Center site and personnel are not aware of any fitment issue regarding these crucial dimensions for proper protection. This case was recommended and purchased with this guitar specifically, as a gift, and I am now on a rabbit chase to find a case that will actually fit.
This case might look cheap at first, but I have to admit it's a solid case! Its built very well! I got a Gator wood case and they look practically the same! This case fits my Shecter Hellraiser just fine, I also tried it on my Epiphone Les Paul, but the guitar wiggles inside when I pick it up. Also, on the Les Paul, the case is a bit harder to close. So if you have a Stratocaster shape guitar you will be OK! if you have a Les Paul you might want to consider another cause.
I bought this case from Guitar Center in Orange, CT, in a moment of atypical, ill-advised cheapness on my part. This is one of, if not the very cheapest hard shell-type guitar case that you can buy from a big box store like Guitar Center. It's the cheapest for a reason. This case is more of a hybrid between a gig bag and a hard shell case. The outer shell isn't like more high-quality and costly cases. It has more of a rigid rubber feel than a true hard-shell case. I'm not exceptionally hard on my gear while taking them out to shows. In fact, I'm quite cautious. But so far, I've brought this case out twice for gigs, and the outside has gotten very banged up. Just from two light gig outings, there are gouges in the shell of the case. As a result, I would not recommend this case for gigging. However, this case is fine if you like to keep your guitars in hard-shell cases in our house and have no plans on transporting them many times over. The handle latches are fine quality, the lining is soft and protective, and the accessories compartment is very large (a big plus!). The universal-style nature of the case is also appealing. I had no problem fitting a Tele, Strat, and Mustang, but it was a slightly tight fit on my Jaguar, due to the oversized body on it. Should fit an SG, and other comparably-sized electric guitars just fine. Bottom line: This case is fine for your storing your guitar in your house, but think twice about taking it out on the road.
I purchased this case for a MH LTD. While the guitar physically fits in the case the headstock make contact with case and is not recommended for the MH body style. In fairness to the case the headstock of these models does sweep back quite far. The F body type did not fit in the case. This case make work for a H body style without a pointed headstock. Overall the case is decent, just doesn't work for my guitars.
Needed "something" for my Peavey EXP I (finally) got back from friend. Didn't want to spend too much, so took a chance on this, and I'm so-o-o glad I did! Wa-a-ay more case than the cost!!!
Though it protects the guitar, the side stitching around the case is falling apart, and the grip inside to open the pocket broke because of a poorly designed brad, so I had to put the grip back on with a better brad. This is uncalled for a $70 case.
Bought it for my schecter tempest, and i must say it is a solid case, for only 69 bucks its WELL worth it!
This is a great case for a good price.I bought 2 of them for my strats.
At first look, this case is amazing, good finish, excellent comfort, and a big generous cave for accesories, i have it and i love it.
