1. The lid won't stay open on it's own. This means you have to use one had to hold open the lid and the other hand to put in / remove items. This eats up my time as I can't use both hands to do what I need to do, because one of my hands is holding the lid open. 2. The storage doors inside of this case get in the way of closing the lid. And, because the inside of this case is all black, in a dark music venue it's hard to see when the door is open, so you go to close the lid and the door is open, you have to wrestle with the door and the lid to get it to close in one shot. Again this eats up my time because I don't always have two hands to use to wrestle with the case. 3. The lid to the case is only held closed by a zipper that basically zips around the entire length of the case. The zipper is flimsy and gets stuck more times than not. Also, this is the only way to keep the case closed, there is no lip thingy to keep it closed. When I remove my guitar, I have to find a place to set my guitar down (which I don't like doing), go back to the case, wrestle with the zippers, and make sure the case is closed. Then go back to my guitar (hope it hasn't "walked off") and continue. If there were some type of lip flap with a snap you could grab your guitar with one hand and snap close this lip flap with the other and go. Once more this eats into my time at a gig. Time that other people are waiting on me. Those people don't like to wait and I don't like to waste time on a poorly designed case. 4. No lock, and no way to add a lock. Nothing to attach a bike lock to. This one is self-explanatory. Don't use this for a gig because it will walk off. Do you want to take that chance with a $1200 one of a kind guitar passed down to you by your great-grandfather? Uh. no. Use this "case" (which to me is a stretch) for going to and from guitar lessons, neighborhood jams, or anywhere that you trust everyone. This case is not designed to be used by professional working guitarists.

Great Case

By PingPongMasta

from Phoenix, NY

Comments about Road Runner Polyfoam Electric Guitar Case:

Although personally I like the look of the traditional wooden cases, this case is very nice. It fits almost any guitar. I own a Jackson with a reverse headstock, and the way this case is made, it fits it just fine. One complaint I have, though, is that I had to attack a couple of rags to the groove that holds the neck because my headstock has a steep angle and it sits on the bottom of the case, which causes it to go out of tune, and causes the neck to float, so i attacked a couple rags to hold the neck up. My friend has this case, and he has the same problem. This case is pretty sturdy though. It might not be as durable as some cases, but it is definitely sturdy enough to take on the road and not have to worry about your precious ax.

Simpily The Perfect Case

By StratKid82

Comments about Road Runner Polyfoam Electric Guitar Case:

I have a short-scale guitar so it's hard to find a case for it. I got this for my birthday, when I unwraped it, it looked like a gig bag, but inside, it looked like a hardshell. I would recomend this case to everyone with an electric guitar.

Fantastic Value

By Kevin Bee

Comments about Road Runner Polyfoam Electric Guitar Case:

This is the best value in a new case you will find. The case has cutouts for any part that might cause wear in the interior fabric, and ample room for storage via 2 closable compartments, plus a large double outside pocket, thats big enough to carry a cord, 2 sets of bass strings, and more I will ONLY buy these case from this point on.

Out Standing Case!!

By Nick

from Scranton, Pa

Comments about Road Runner Polyfoam Electric Guitar Case:

I bought this very case about a year and a half ago and let me tell you, its outstanding and it does its job. I was picking out my birthday present from my father because he wanted me to get a better guitar than i had, which I picked a Fender squire bullet. Then i realized i'd be playing different places so i had to get something that can lightweight durable and can be stacked without pressure that would be on a regular gigbag. best guitar case for the best price! I will be picking another one up in a month for when i get a squier telecaster. Thank you guitar center!!

Great case.... Doesn't fit ibanez 7 strings though.

By Bryan

from Fort Wayne, IN

Comments about Road Runner Polyfoam Electric Guitar Case:

I love this case, I have had it for 2 years. So far I have only managed to break a zipper and the leather pull tabs for one of the inside storage areas. It has plenty of storage space inside for picks, extra strings, and whatever else you bring with you. I have 2 Schecter c1s that fit nicely, and it works great with my Ibanez RG, but it DOES NOT fit an Ibanez 7 string. This case is about 1/2 an inch too short, although the foam is pretty malleable and It can squeeze in, I am afraid I'm putting pressure on the neck.

Nice Case for the Money!

By Dan Stollings

from Scottsdale, AZ

Comments about Road Runner Polyfoam Electric Guitar Case:

Most other hard cases are about $60+, and are also sometimes a little on the heavy side (see Coffin Cases). After doing a little research...yes I actually researched guitar cases...I found that the hard polyfoam cases would be the best mix of what I need for the money that it costs. Regularly, these cases cost $69, but I picked mine up on sale for $50. The first thing you will notice when checking out these cases is that they are very light, which is a major plus for me. Any way to make the transportation of gear a little easier is AWESOME. When carrying your guitar in this case, it feels like you're basically just carrying your guitar plus maybe a pound or two. The next thing you will notice is that despite it's small size, it offers quite a bit of storage space. On the top flap (lid) of the case, there's a mesh pouch perfect for carrying a guitar strap or 15ft cables. On the inside, there's hard, rectangular compartments on the left and right of where the guitar's neck sits. They would be good for holding patch cables, maybe a tuner, pics, etc. The only downsides I see are that it SNUGLY fits my ESP LTD MH400NT. Which is probably good, seeing as how it won't be moving around in the case. Fitting the guitar in the case with the strap still on it a little challenging, but very possible. The neck of my guitar doesn't rest completely on the support for the neck because of how the headstock is shaped on my guitar. This case is probably designed to fit a Fender Stratocaster perfectly. The hard polyfoam feels just like a normal guitar case--very stiff and sturdy. No softness to the polyfoam at all. The handle seems to be made completely of plastic, so if there's a weak spot on this case, that's probably going to be it. Overall great value, and I would definitely recommend getting this case over a similarly priced hard case. Glad I bought it!

Comments about Road Runner Polyfoam Electric Guitar Case:

Was looking for a light-weight, inexpensive case for my Epi LP Spec 2. Read one review that said the LP would not fit in this case and another that said it would. Went to my local GC and grabbed my model off the wall and placed it in the case. It fit beautifully. There was about ½" to spare above the head stock and about ¼" lateral movement at the body. The neck was well supported in a long cradle. When closed there was just enough contact between the lid and the strings and bridge to secure the instrument. The two lidded interior storage bins were more than big enough for picks, capo, slide, tuner, strap, etc. The exterior pocket would easily hold several cables and just about anything else you might want to tote around with your guitar. Perhaps not the most durable case if you are a road musician routinely tossing gear in and out of a van, but that is not me. I paid the man and took the case home. My LP, "exactly" the same model as in the store all the way down to the finish, would not fit. Turns out my guitar was about an inch or so longer than its twin—so much for the inherent standardization of mass production. Don't rely solely on the reviews you read here and don't rely on the store's stock. Take your machine to the store with you and try the case on for size. If it fits, this could be a great case for you. I gave it five stars even though I ended up returning it.

      Great value!

      By Marc

      from Mechanicsburg PA

Comments about Road Runner Polyfoam Electric Guitar Case:

This is a very goof value for the price. The case is sturdy and very well made. It is essentially a hard shell case but it's light weight and easy to carry. Instead of clasps which can come open accidentally, this case uses extra sturdy ziippers so it only comes open when you want it to! Also has plenty of storage space, both inside and out. My son's new Strat fits inside perfectly. I can't reccomend this case enough!

Does not fit an Epiphone Les Paul

      By Joshua Franz

      from Spring Hill, FL

Comments about Road Runner Polyfoam Electric Guitar Case:

I decided to buy this case for my epiphone les paul after reading another review stating it fit theirs...well it does not. It does appear to be a very nice case though for the price and I was disappointed that my les paul would not fit. When I tried to place the guitar in the case I had to squeeze the foam a little just to make the head stock clear and it rested on the tuning pegs. The neck does not rest on the neck groove and you cannot close the lid without forcing it down on the bridge. A good case, but just beware that it does NOT fit an Epiphone les paul.

Comments about Road Runner Polyfoam Electric Guitar Case:

Love this case! I've purchased two of them now. Loved the first so much I wanted a second for my new guitar. The Roadrunner case is lightweight but sturdy and offers plenty of protection for car rides and keeping dust, animals and kids away from my electric beauties. I've used it to transport my 6 string electrics and they all fit just fine. There are two compartments inside to hold gear and pockets on the outside. It has a lot of great storage space and the interior is plush and padded. I've had my first case for 4 or 5 years now and I expect to get many more years out of both. I also like having zippers to secure the case. I trust them much more than some of the cheap clasps you find on lower end hard sided cases.

      Great Buy!

      By Shanked

      from Harrisburg, Pa

Comments about Road Runner Polyfoam Electric Guitar Case:

I got this case about a year ago, and is great for moving your guitar from place to place. It'll fits tons of different guitars and some useful storage. I never thought it was too special until one day I realized, someone stabbed my case. I'm not sure why someone would, but it clear that someone forcefully stabbed the top of the case by the headstock compartment. If I open it up, it looks brand new, and no one would guess that it had been stabbed. The exterior was just cut and dented a little, which what it should do, to protect you guitar. I would *highly* suggest to anyone looking for a case.

Comments about Road Runner Polyfoam Electric Guitar Case:

When I bought my bass at Guitar Center the guy asked if I wanted a case so I said why not. So i chose this one I wanted a hardshell but turned out that this was sort of one it just looks and kinda feels like a soft case but inside it fits my bass perfectly and has great compartments on the outside and inside. I have to walk around the huge case to unzip the zipper to open it but no biggie. I recommend this to anyone!

Worth much more than you have to pay

      By HubbDC

      from wichita, ks

Comments about Road Runner Polyfoam Electric Guitar Case:

I am very happy with this purchase. I have a PRS Paul Allender and it fits in like a glove. There is more than enough storage for most people. It is much lighter than a hardshell case and so far it is just as protective. With the zippers you can't accidentally open the case. Also another note about the zippers is I have yet to pick this case up "opened" because it is obvious when you look that the zippers aren't closed. My behringer V-amp2 fits in the front pocket if needed but I usually store a 3 ring binder in there. This is an excellent product at an excellent price. I would gladly have paid more for this case but happily didn't have to.

I wanted something to protect my guitar but not break my wallet and this case is perfect! It fits my guitar great and with the pockets outside and storage inside I can easily carry picks, cables, tuner, and all my other accessories. If you're looking for a good case at a great price then look no further because you've found it.

          By Wayne Clark

Comments about Road Runner Polyfoam Electric Guitar Case:

I just purchased an Ibanez AR320 from my local GC & not wanting to leave it out in the elements, I needed a case. They didn't have the case specific to my model but had several Road Runner cases that came this close to fitting but not quite. Then, I found this case. It fit the lower bout of the guitar to a "T". I put a polishing cloth on the neck support to give the head clearance, so it wouldn't be resting on the head but that's the only "modification" I had to make. It's a well built case & aesthetically pleasing. Even if I order the proper case for the AR320, I'm going to use this one for one of my other guitars. I highly recommend this case.

I was looking for a great travel case and everyday carry case. I just got back into playing and didnt want to blow a whole lot on a case. I have a ESP LTD MH style. Other cases that cost more had alot of wiggle room where the body lies and I didnt want that. This fit almost perfect and held the neck great. The storage space is great for holding alot more than u should need. Its lightweight and easy to handle. Its a great case for the price and would recomend to anyone. Also got it on sale for presidents day.

Fits PRS style guitar nearly perfectly

            By David

            Verified Buyer

Comments about Road Runner Polyfoam Electric Guitar Case:

I purchased this item as I had a mid 2000s PRS custom that was without a case--no case, no use for gigs. I had been looking around quite a bit at other cases, but a friend recommended this one AND it happened to be on sale. The case measurements listed gave me a slight pause, and it looked like it would be snug around the lower body width. However, I took the chance and purchased it as it was on sale. Upon receiving it, I placed the guitar in case and it fits great. Even the trem arm can fit inside one of the neck pockets! The neck of the case has two pockets, one on either side of the neck, which for my purposes works well. It would be difficult to fit anything bigger than a standard boss-style pedal in it, but that is what the pedalboard is for:) The space for the headstock is broad as well.

The case has 2 outer zippered pockets, fitting small items and an instrument cable. The foam and nylon seems strong. As far as durability, only time will tell how long the case will last, but I'm not a touring musician--I play every other weekend, with occasional trips for gigs here and there. If I was a touring musician, I would probably spend a whole lot more. However, for 50 bones (on sale), I'm satisfied.
