I purchased a Road Runner Road Runner A RK5414 88-Key Keyboard Bag to transport a my 88-key piano which only weighs 39 lbs. After gently using this item 3-4 times, it started coming apart at the seams on the side of the bag where the handles are located. Guitar Center gave me a second bag to try. The second bag did exactly the same thing. The bag has a design flaw in it with reference to where they put the handles and straps. The bag should have been designed to have double handles sewn to opposite sides as well as the shoulder straps should have been sewn on opposite sides. Many case companies do locate handles and straps as I have described and have no problems. It is amazing that Road Ready has never corrected this problem. Until they correct this design flaw, I will not purchase another Road Ready Bag.

I recently bought one of these for my Yamaha P120 and it was a great fit and a good looking bag. However, after using the bag only three times (and used very gently at that) the bag started tearing at the seams. Even the handle is pulling loose. Though the price is right I would not recommend this product. It definitely cannot handle anything like the weight of the P120.

Road Runner Road Runner A RK5414 88-Key Keyboard Bag

Comments about Road Runner A RK5414 88-Key Keyboard Bag:

I purchased one of these bags for a Yamaha CP88. After using the bag three or four times to carry the keyboard from my house to the car to take to rehearsal, the bag started to come apart at the seams on the side of the handle. I took the bag back to Guitar Center. They gave me another bag thinking it was just an isolated case of a flawed bag. Well, the second bag did exactly the same thing after four carries under the exact same conditions. The bag has a design flaw as the handle is mounted on the edge which causes the case to pull out from the seams. The bag should be redesigned with a handle on each side of the bag that come together to make one handle. This would eliminated the bag coming apart at the seams. Most keyboard bags have double handles.

Terrible

By David

Comments about Road Runner A RK5414 88-Key Keyboard Bag:

After using this bag only twice the handle broke. It just isn't strong enough to handle a Roland keyboard, although the guy at the GC store swore it would be strong enough. I hope I can return it but I don't have a receipt.

Don't waste your money!

By Carrie

Comments about Road Runner A RK5414 88-Key Keyboard Bag:

I bought a new Roland RD700 keyboard a little while back and the salesperson threw this case in without my having a chance to research ahead of time. While I've used it these past few months (very carefully - it has inadequate padding and no way to secure the keyboard inside), the seams have begun to rip out, the wheels are flimsy and I'm currently looking for a good replacement bag.

Road Runner Keyboard shoulder case is Bad!!

By Grant Reiff

from Nashville, TN

Comments about Road Runner A RK5414 88-Key Keyboard Bag:

This bag after carrying it 3 times started to rip at the seam on the handle side. I am afraid to use it anymore because the keyboard will probably fall right out. This is the biggest waste of money that you could ever have. I highly recommend not using this bag because it is so faulty. I thought I was going to get by with a shoulder carrying case, but I will just have to use my gator hard case instead. If I could give this a negative star so I could get my money back, I would.

Terri-bag

By Nicholas Wright

Comments about Road Runner A RK5414 88-Key Keyboard Bag:

I bought this today. I got it home. I put my keyboard in it. I picked up the bag. It ripped. It's a terrible, terrible bag. Also, the reason this is 2 stars is because some guy gave it 5 stars while complaining about all the same things everyone else complained about, so he was obviously confused. This should be a 0 star bag. It's just... awful.

Comments about Road Runner A RK5414 88-Key Keyboard Bag:

I think the negative reviews on this bag are unwarranted. If you own a high end and heavy keyboard, and you regularly move your keys from site to site, then you shouldn't purchase a low end keyboard bag. This bag cost half what other bags sell for. I only move my keyboard occasionally and it only weighs 27 lbs. This is the intended purpose of this gig bag. I have no complaints. The bag is perfect for my keyboard.

      Can Be The Right Bag...

Comments about Road Runner A RK5414 88-Key Keyboard Bag:

I had to comment though others had many issues with this gig bag, I have used it with a 26lb Yamaha 88 piano (used as a controller) for over 9 years with only the plastic handle cracking. Duct tape fixed that problem. I'm sure the weight of my piano helped make the case last and also that the piano fits the exact size of the case so the keyboard doesn't move at all. On the other hand, my new Roland PF30 is a terrible fit, moves around inside the case, and is too heavy for this case to hold up or protect it adequately. Make sure it's really the right case for you, not just the right price. Your keyboards will love you for it.
