Getting the gig is hard enough, getting there doesn't have to be.

It's hard to imagine an invention more ubiquitous than the wheel, and for keyboard players who need a convenient and affordable way to get their rig rolling, the Keyboard Porter from Road Runner marries the convenience of wheels to a practical and well thought out keyboard case design with the "chops" every player needs to arrive at the gig with minimal hassle.

A durable luggage-grade exterior with smooth-glide in-line skate style wheels makes transporting even the bulkiest piano keyboard a breeze, while the case's plastic wheel guards make curbs, stairs, potholes, and earthquake rubble navigable. The bottom has been reinforced internally with an additional scratch guard near the wheels, while 1" thick dual-layer padding maintains rigidity on the outer side and a comfortable cushion to protect the keyboard on the inside. The rubber comfort-grip handle allows the case to be pulled with ease, and a detachable shoulder strap and quilted grip handle offer additional transport options. Three large expandable pockets provide plenty of storage space for even the most well-provisioned player, with room for a laptop or table top synth, cables, power supplies, sustain pedals, sheet music, groupie address books, small mammals, and other accessories.

  • Economical Gig Bag offers Great Protection!

As reviewed by Kevin Cain Sr. on 10/27/2009

Nice protection for the cost, the zipper is bigger adn works smoothly and I believe it will last a long time, the bag fits the 88 keyboard nicely and the wheels make moving the instrument long distances easier allowing one guy to complete the task at hand. Also I have even stacked the seat and a few other items on top and rolled it easily to the stage.

  • Keyboard fits perfectly

As reviewed by David on 8/8/2011

I recently bought the Yamaha DGX-640 keyboard, and needed a case for it (my previous P-80 came with a case that was specifically made for the keyboard). This keyboard is deeper than the P-80, but it fits perfectly in the Road Runner case. The wheels are a great option for moving, though I wish that the handle had been put on the end of the case, rather than on the underside. For use with smaller keyboards you might have more space for the other essentials (cables, pedals, power cords, etc.), but overall I am very happy to find a case for my keyboard. Also wishing that there was a bit more padding, but I think it will be fine. Since I don't need an amp with this keyboard, I won't have to use a hand truck anymore when I'm on the road.

  • Large Capacity

As reviewed by Lisa on 9/12/2014

I bought this case at the last minute because I needed to transport a Yamaha YPG235 to a gig. First of all, it is HUGE! I like the roominess of the main compartment, and it seems to have adequate padding. I was able to fit the x-stand, the music stand, and a foot pedal, although it is a little tricky getting it all in there. I love that it has wheels! I thought that the front pockets would be roomier based on the product description. I wasn't able to fit as much stuff in them as I thought I would. I am conflicted about the placement of the pull handle. I'm not sure why they placed it on the underside of the case and not on the end. I also wish that it could stand upright with the keyboard inside. It's difficult to balance it upright even when you lean it against a wall. It does seem durable, and I'm sure I will get good use out of it.
