The Boulder Creek EUT-5NS Tenor Acoustic-Electric Ukulele has the same features of the UT-5NS (our sku# H76289), but adds a built-in Chromatic tuner, pickup system, and battery powered preamp with Volume, Bass, and Treble controls. Great tone for the living room, recording studio, or the stage.
The exclusive "Dual Port System" projects the sound to both the audience and the player. Moving the front sound port away from the center of the soundboard helps to increase volume, tone, and sustain on all Boulder Creek ukuleles. Die cast tuning machines and perfect fret leveling make them stay in tune and play easier than ukes costing much more.

Comments about Riptide EUT-5NS Tenor Acoustic-Electric Ukulele:
This is only my second Uke, and my first was a $35 Santa Rosa [not the best 'ukulele, unless you're just starting from the ground up, the strings are 1/4" or so away from the neck. Helped me push firmly on the chords now though. :)] But back to my 'Ukulele. It sounds great acoustically and plugged in (no amp yet, just tested the store's.) and has a really great sound, I think it is from the nifty hole placement. The only problems I've had with it is that the frets are a little rough, and when I got it the C string buzzed when I plucked it hard, but I took it back to the Guitar Center and it just turned out that the nuts on the tuners keys were loose. So the guy there fixed it right up for free and it sounds just great now. Also, the built in tuner is awesome, super helpful. Other than that, I can't think of anything else except that I would recommend this 'Ukulele to anyone who is looking for a relatively low priced instrument and wants a tenor.
