Comments about Rickenbacker 4004L Laredo Electric Bass:
I have owned a few high end bass guitars during the 20 years I have been playing, and instantly this one became my favorite. First, it looks great, even better in real life than in the photos you can find online. Mine was well built, and with the right setup for me right out of the box. And the sound... it does sound like Rock & Roll. I run it through two different Mesa Boogie amps (a Bass 400+ and a D800 Subway) and in both in less than a minute I had the sound I have always been looking for. The output of the pickups is high for being a passive bass, and the only controls you have is pickup selector, volume and tone, that is just the perfect configuration for me. This might not be the bass for all styles of music and for everyone but it is certainly the best for me and the best for rock and roll.
