Nice and slow...
This seems to be an all-right shaker... It's a good deal for the price at least. The paint was kind of rubbed off in places when I first pulled it out of the package, but that's got nothing to do with sound, right? The actual sound it makes is good, but it's not for everything. This shaker is pretty big (I have the smaller of the two shown), and therefor is more for slower usage. I write indie/rock music, but this thing is just too big and you can't get a fast paced rhythm with it. If you want something that can be used at a faster tempo, I suggest getting a smaller "egg" shaker.

A simple shaker that works
I perform live in acoustic settings, and i play many various percussion instruments for my singer. We play in small coffeehouses and stages with mics. I recently bought this shaker and have been impressed. Surprisingly, it produces a good loud enough volume even from up on stage!
For this price, this shaker works well and is a permanent member of my arsenal of percussion instruments.

Nice shaker
I added this shaker to an order to get above $100 and get free shipping, so it was basically free. I already had the Live version of this shaker, so I figured it would be a good shaker, and I haven't been disappointed. Good sound, good size, easy to play.
