I have tried out a number of practice pads in the stores and this one is one of the best I have used. The price is perfect and it really has a nice bounce to it. Perfect for practicing rudiments on, you can even practice rim shots because of the edge around the pad. You can even mount it to a snare stand which is a great feature so you do not always have to put it on your lap or a chair. I have had this product for about 6 months now and it has taken a lot of abuse but it is still as good as the day I bought it. Happy to own such a fantastic piece of equipment.

Great Practice Pad

Comments about Remo Practice Pad:

This is a great pad for anything you want to do, especially practicing rudiments. It has an excellent bounce and feels very much like playing a marching snare.

Good Practice Tool

By drummer491

from Illinois

Comments about Remo Practice Pad:

I suggest if you are beginning to learn snare drum in middle school then get one of these. It's a great pratice tool without all the noise of a real snare. Also if you're a drumset player its great to play with brushes while warming up for a show.

Great Practice Pad for Practice

By Peter

from California

Comments about Remo Practice Pad:

This is a great practice pad for whatever you need to do on a practice pad. I use this for pretty much everything from quiet jamming to practicing my rudiments. You can't mount this on you average cymbal stand, it doesn't fit any of my stands, but you can mount it onto pretty much any snare stand. This is a decent practice pad and isn't too expensive. If you need one and are short on cash, try this one out.

Awesome Pad

By mcmillandrummer13

from greenville, sc

Comments about Remo Practice Pad:

this is a great pad! it feels like a reel drum and you can actually do rim-shots on it (unlike the rubber pads). If you play snare drum or ever practice rudiments, you must buy this pad. (i recommend the smaller version to help with accuracy)

What I was looking for

By Natalie

from oregon,portland

Comments about Remo Practice Pad:

I have been searching for a good pad to suit my marching snare and tenor music pieces that include a lot of flams and rim shots. The rim around the edge helps with my shots and is sturdy enough to take the blows as well as not damaging my sticks. The pad gives me enough bounce to preform quick movements needed in many of the high school bands I preform with. I recommened this product to a fellow drum player, and now we both can both play our pieces with the precision we are expected to have. Having both the 8 and 6 inch help to substatute a make shift tenor.

Perfect for rudiments

By Anthony Hook

from Wausau, WI

Comments about Remo Practice Pad:

This pad is exactly what I was looking for. I can quietly practice rudiments in my apartment without disturbing my neighbors (or my wife too badly). The rebound feels real, the rim is perfect for practicing rim shots, couldn't have picked a better pad.

Nice idea but cheply made and feels dead

By zimbop

from Southwest

Comments about Remo Practice Pad:

I was really disapointed by this Remo practice pad. I thought something more like a real drum head (made by a drum head maker) would give a little better sound response and feel more like a real drum head. Unfortunately this pad feels pretty dead. It does make a better and louder sound than a rubber pad, but it doesn't have nearly the recoil of a snare drum or the rubber-top pads. Right in the center there's a tolerable spot, but anywhere around the edges it's completely dead. It is supposedly adjustable, and has screws around the perimeter like lugs, but tightening them seemed to do nothing to the feel of the head, and the rim is made out of such soft plastic I think the screws were bending the rim more than tightening the head. Looks like the screws are just sinking into the plastic. On the plus side, it has a 1/4-20 mounting thread which works on some cymbal stands, but I used a cheap tripod (same threads as a camera base). It was also pretty inexpensive, about 30% cheaper than the common HQ and VFirth rubber-topped pads. If you're looking for a really quiet pad, this is not the one for you, it's the loudest one they had in the store. If you're looking for the feel of a snare drum, this is not it either, unless you like your snare really fat and loose. If price is your only object then I'd say this is an acceptable (but not preferable) choice. I wish I'd gotten one of the others.

Good Practice Pad

By aldman121

from Undisclosed

Comments about Remo Practice Pad:

This is a pretty good practice pad. I like the feel of it, but it could be better. It has okay bounce, not one of Remo's best. The playing area is to small, you always hit the edges.
