Remo's popular Pinstripe drumheads are made from two plies of Remo clear film and bonded at the collar to dampen both high overtones and overall resonance. The result is a very focused, low-pitched sound with moderate attack and response characteristics that is ideal for creating a deeper, fatter, controlled drum sound in a variety of studio and live drumming situations.
The fusion pack includes Remo Pinstripe drumheads for 10", 12", and 14" toms. The standard pack includes Remo Pinstripe drumheads for 12", 13", and 16" toms.

i allways used remo with the black dot after my original clear remos stretched out ( oh ya my drums were new in 1976 ) and they were very loud and ringy because they were fiberglass shell drums in 1986 i decided to try something new and it was the pinstriped remos what a world of difference did all toms plus snare left bass alone stuffed blanket inside you thought i had maple shells or birch toned them right down very nice sound even a pro drummer with same drums did the same swap out even though i gave up playing in 1990 i finally dragged them out after 24 years of darkness and they still hold a decent tune not bad these should be stock on newer kits
These heads are the best. definitely get these. They will make even the cheapest set sound good and i know because i have a pearl forum. They have that fat and low sound which is perfect if your a rock drummer and they are surprisingly easy to tune. I use clear emperors on my reso side.
Part of the pinstripe heads reputation is that its for people who don't know how to tune drums. Bah! Humbug! I don't care anymore. These drum heads were the answer to my problem. I've got a drum set that naturally has allot of overtones. This drum set is VERY challenging to tune. I've learned & tried all kinds of tuning methods. I could make my drums sound satisfactory compared to its nature - but it never sounded tight enough with a distinct enough note like I wanted it. After putting the pinstripes on I can hear the meat of the drum without the overly lengthy sustain. The heads deliver the characteristics of the Yamaha drums & others recorded in the 80's. At-least that's what it reminds me of. I was thinking about selling my drum set for a different one - but not anymore. I ordered the pinstripe head package with the Remo Emperor X snare head. I also ordered a Remo Powerstroke 3 batter for the bass drum. Right now I'm using the Evan G2 clear for resonant that I was recently using as my batters. There working great - but I'll probably put some Ambassadors on the resonant side. I really didn't know how drastically heads can change the sound of your entire drum set. These pinstripes helped me make the decision to keep my drums. If your having trouble tuning your drum set, try these pinstripes or something like the Evans EC1 or EC2 before giving up on your beloved kit. With these kinds of heads & a little effort with tuning you'll make a troublesome drum sound fantastic.
I looked everywhere online and at stores to get a good deal on tom heads for my kit. I found these heads on guitarcenter.com and ordered them immediately. The price was cheaper even with the shipping and the shipping was even better than the price. They were at my front door before I expected them to be. I will order on-line from this company again!
They sound very good for rock style music. I'm really happy with this set.
i ordered these heads online and wen i got them and put them on, i noticed a big difference in the sound of my set. ive got a 'mapex qr' set and im on a bit of a tight budget, so these were the first replacement heads ive purchased (to replace the factory remos tht came w/ the set). and my old heads had a long, oddly pitched, sustain, they would 'ring' for several seconds after you hit it...and after putting these on (and a few minutes of fine tuning) that sound was gone. they sound much more controlled and finished.-- not to mention they came at a great price -- they also seem to be very durable (my old heads started gettin beat up in a very short time) and these show no signs of wear and tear so far (save for a few scuff marks). id recommend these heads for anybody whos looking to get the best sound out of their set, at a low price, and not have to replace them for a while. great heads.
these heads have a good dampening system. the are low pitched and punchy. this pack comes in common sizes for drums.
