    The MACK TRUCK of djembes!

    By z00keypr

    from GA

Comments about Remo Mondo Designer Series Key-Tuned Djembe:

I have owned a 14in djmebe for a few years and it sounds as good as the day I bought it. The ability of these drums to withstand rain/water/heat/snow... anything...is a huge plus that set sit apart from other djembes. These things are indestructable. Huge sound as well.

    AMAZING DRUM!!!

    By blueguitar15

    from Kamloops, BC, Canada

Comments about Remo Mondo Designer Series Key-Tuned Djembe:

This is the most amazing Djembe you will ever hear. It has great bass tones and awesome highs. The tuning style is a lot easier than the traditional way, and it stays in tune remarkably well. I would reccomend this drum to anyone from a hobbyist to a professional drummer. They're more than amazing, the Remo Djembe is everything you ever wanted in a hand drum!

    buy this!

    By ThisDyingSoul

    from Iowa

Comments about Remo Mondo Designer Series Key-Tuned Djembe:

I have had my 12 inch Remo djembe for about 1 year now and really like it. The tuning method is far from traditional, but works so much better in my opinion. The drum also holds its tuning extremely well. A variety of sounds can easily be produced and rim shots are very loud. It sounds great with or without a microphone. I really like the overall sound I get from the drum. Its durability is unbeatable as far as other djembes go. Defiantly buy this if you are interested in a djembe. You will not be disappointed.

Comments about Remo Mondo Designer Series Key-Tuned Djembe:

I've been shopping for a djembe for a few months and haven't found anything that sounds as good as these. Now all I have to do is decide between the 12 and 14 inch.

Comments about Remo Mondo Designer Series Key-Tuned Djembe:

This drum may not have the real traditional look that some folks like with the head laced in place, but this drum has a wounder full sound. I can't stop wanting to sit down and play. this drum will make any musician very happy. The fiber skin being synthetic does have a very smooth finish that is not found on natural skined drums, but I like it!!! The "earth" finish is not smooth like the other finishes so my legs can grip it.

    a drum, not a djembe

    By jamman123

    from Minneapolis, MN

Comments about Remo Mondo Designer Series Key-Tuned Djembe:

I cannot deny that this drum has good bass and looks nice, but it is not a djembe. Djembe's arent made out of synthetic materials. I bought an overseas djembe and i love it. I wouldnt recomend getting this drum but for the money its not too bad.

Comments about Remo Mondo Designer Series Key-Tuned Djembe:

I love this drum. It has a great bass sound to it, i just want to keep playing it over and over. The tunning style is different, but I still like it. Its also easy to grip with your feet and was obviously built to last!

    Solid Construction - Great Tone

    By CHRISTOPH TRUEMPER

    from Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Comments about Remo Mondo Designer Series Key-Tuned Djembe:

I have only owned this drum (12") for three weeks or so but have already recorded several tracks on very different songs and I am very pleased with my purchase. My equipment has to withstand every day abuses and this drum seems like it will last a lifetime. The material resists water damage and scratching and is tough as nails. The hardware is solid. It is easy to tune but came from the factory sounding great. It is also beautiful to look at (I got the "Earth" version that is basically brown. The more colorful models were nice but pay attention to the wrap itself and make sure the coating they put over it is not cracking. To me the Earth version is a bit more durable. It is a wood fiber composite which almost has a fuzzy feel and it seems like it could get dragged across the pavement and suffer any damage. Very organic feeling yet tough. The head is soft to the touch but also seems very durable. Most importantly, the tone is amazing. It has rich deep lows when you hit the center with your palm and lively highs from slapping the edge. It is extremely versatile. You can simulate brushes on a snare by brushing your palm across the top of the head. You can let loose with fast tribal rhythms and slow it down for a jazzy beat that simulates bass and snare. It seems like I could find a way to utilize it in the forefront or background of any style of music, and, to either add some richness to the overall rhythm or to be right out in the spotlight as the main rhythm player. You can play softly and subtly or blow everyone else out of the room. The big deep lows are fantastic, you just need to tilt it to open up the bottom for the tone to escape if you have it sitting on the floor. Or you can buy a stand that lifts it completely off the ground for the full tone. Well constructed, versatile tones, and a true instrument with playability and musicality. Love this drum. It inspires me to play and seems like it will for years to come.

    SOLID!

    By Franklin Klock

    from PA

Comments about Remo Mondo Designer Series Key-Tuned Djembe:

Though not a true djembe, this drum is the perfect combination of traditional style and modern materials and technology. Add to that, a fantastic sound range and the convenience of key tuning, and you have got yourself one hell of a drum! I must admit I like the fiberskyn 3 heads A LOT better than the nuskyn heads. They feel more like natural skin heads, and have a more traditional look and sound. For someone who travels a lot with their drum, this thing is bombproof.

Comments about Remo Mondo Designer Series Key-Tuned Djembe:

I just purchased a Remo Djembe Earth 14/25. I love it. However it is not a traditional dru djembe for it is made out of siynthetic materials and plastic. A real Djembe is Hand crafted by those that have a real attachment to its origins. On a positive note, A remo Djembe is worth the money and is quite durable with deep bass and high slap. I love it and would give it a4/5.

    I LOVE IT

    By dAtaZniNvAziN256

Comments about Remo Mondo Designer Series Key-Tuned Djembe:

I love Remo, since i started drumming, i've always stuck with remo drum heads, remo o-rings, remi drum pads, etc. They are a great brand that create great quality products that don't fail. This Djembe is possibly one of the best i've ever heard in my life. My bestfriend plays one for his indian traditional music, and it sounds really good. I'm sure it can be encorporated with a lot of other kinds of music including jazz, country, and maybe a bit of pop. A lot of traditional Asian music relies on these kinds of drums, and these drums sound very nice. I love how it sounds, and i will be buying one to add to my set to add some flavor. He had a 12 inch Djembe by the way, which sounded phenomonal.

Comments about Remo Mondo Designer Series Key-Tuned Djembe:

i like the deep bass and tones it produces. this is my first personal djembe, but one of the best i've played. maybe it's not your choice if you're looking for the authentic african sound, but to me it sounds great and it fits well with the acoustic stuff i play! it's a good choice for the contemporary player.

    Surprising

    By Shawn Gierling

    from heath, oh

Comments about Remo Mondo Designer Series Key-Tuned Djembe:

I'm not a percussionist. I'm a Worship Pastor, but I have loved the djembe for years. I play acoustic guitar and in intimate settings, the djembe is the perfect instrument to uphold my guitar work and vocals. I've been at my current church for a year and a half and just purchased the Remo 27 x 16. I was concerned about the 100% synthetic shell and head. When I got it, I took it to my office and cranked the head. I just wasn't satisfied with the bass, but when I brought it into our Worship Center and began to play I was amazed. Our percussionists who are very much traditionalists also loved it. Thanks for making a superb synthetic djembe that is affordable, and therefore accessible to non-professional musicians. God Bless

    Took a while to decide...

    By Franklin Klock

    from Eastern PA

Comments about Remo Mondo Designer Series Key-Tuned Djembe:

I was faced with the typical dilemma...traditional rope djembe, or key tuned model. I played a friends authentic drum for a while and, during that, time experienced considerable variations in tone. My friend explained that it was due to variations in temperature and humidity. That was a huge factor in my decision to purchase a Remo djembe. Because of my job, travel, and lifestyle, I need things that are tough, weather resistant, and don't need special care. This drum fits perfectly. The sound from this drum is really nice. Lots of personality and good tone. Great for traditional and non-traditional playing. The brown earth finish is super durable, and helps keep that traditional look. Simply put, I am very happy with it. Buy one for yourself and see.
