I'm using the head on a home made banjo-dulcimer. It sounds very good.

      Ultimate Jazz Snare Head

      By chris leach

      from La Verne, Ca

Comments about Remo FiberSkyn Ambassador Batter Head:

Let me preface this by saying that I am very much an Evans man when it comes to drum heads. But when I bought my 7.5" x 14" Yamaha Nouveau brass snare for jazz gigs, I new which batter head was going on it. Nothing sounds more like vintage calf skin than Remo Fiber Skyns. Yes, that applies to toms and bass drums as well. The mark III version of the head is far more durable than the original Fiber Skyns introduced in the seventies, though I loved those too. These are the only heads I've ever tried that replicate the old school sound and feel of calf skin with the added benefit that they aren't subject to the excessive stretching, particularly in high humididty, that calf skin heads were infamous for. The balance of warmth, articulation abd just the right amount of overtones make this head perfect for jazz ensambles in small settings. Having said that, it sounds amazing miked up live and in the studio as well. In terms of using them on an entire kit, they provide a pleasant, controlled sound without the need for additional muting.

      Huge EQ

      By Levi McGee

      from Eureka, Kansas

Comments about Remo FiberSkyn Ambassador Batter Head:

These heads have a great range of tone and dynamics. Tuned low they are really deep and punchy. Tuned high they are very snappy with a ton of overtone. When used on a snare drum, these heads have crazy dynamics. Soft hits ring out making them great for rolls, hard hits are extremely loud and cut through any mix. I would suggest these heads to any jazz player for the dynamics and rock players for the punch.

      very impressed

      By Timothy Chen

      from Las Vegas

Comments about Remo FiberSkyn Ambassador Batter Head:

I was a little reluctant in getting these heads at first, mainly from the reviews stating that they were really thin, broke easily or peeled, but after ordering a full set of these for my kit (batter and reso) I was genuinely impressed. These heads are relatively thick compared to what I was expecting, but that's a good thing in my case (gives me reassurance that I won't break them). These heads have a really nice warm sound, and they also made my 16" tom sound wonderful. I got these heads for a relatively new 78' Pearl kit I picked up, I decided to get these after my 12" tom decided to break when I hit it. Needless to say I do not regret my purchase. I haven't experienced any peeing so far, but I haven't had the heads for too long so it is kind of early to tell how they will hold up. If you are reluctant at first, don't be! Get the heads, you will not be disappointed.

      Awesome

      By Justin

Comments about Remo FiberSkyn Ambassador Batter Head:

The description is very accurate warm and fat. Very few high ringing overtones just a nice full sound. The kit is used as back line for my company and we always get compliments on the sound. Yamaha PowerV with these sound like a kit that cost 5 times more.
