There's drumheads and then there's Remo Drumheads.

By Danny "Groove\

from Chicago, IL

Comments about Remo Clear Pinstripe Head:

To all Rockers, R&B groovers, Gospel cats and just straight up drummers. If you are looking for a drumhead that can take a hit and ask for more, or head that sounds great even after a long priod of time, or if you're just looking for a great buy at a great price, Remo Pinstripe Drumheads are your best choice. I wouldn't have it any other way on my kit. Get that PHAT sound drummers are always looking for.

Great Drumheads

By myfriendisrelatedtolespaul

from Wisconsin

Comments about Remo Clear Pinstripe Head:

These Remo Pinstripes are awesome. I recently replaced the factory heads on all my toms with these and wished I had done it sooner. After breaking them in they stay in tune fairly well, and give a slightly muffled sound, great for the studio. I highly recommend these heads.

great head

By matt

from chicago

Comments about Remo Clear Pinstripe Head:

i bought these pinstripes about a year ago now (im going to be replacng them soon) and they have been awesome. they killed all that overtone and ringing that i hated and they sounded great. but i do not reccomend these to anyone who likes theyre drums more open and ringy, otherwise they are worth the buy. although i am thing of switching over to ec2's just to try them out and see if i like them

Best drumhead I've ever played!

By Matt

from Alabama

Comments about Remo Clear Pinstripe Head:

WOW... simply amazing to say the bare minimum about this truly amazing drumhead. Remo has done it again! It is the perfect drumhead for a drummer who wants to get a great tone out of their toms (bass too) without the extended ring you get from most other drumheads. I definately recomend it to any drummer who wants nothing but the best!

Their..pretty good

By Brotha David Cervantes

from Houston, TeXas

Comments about Remo Clear Pinstripe Head:

I use to have EC2's, but then I saw that my producer had pinstripes on his set, so I exchanged the EC2's for the pins'. When I got to my studio I tuned the 12 inch first, and I loved it because it produced a kind'a plastic sound and because they have a short sustain. But I had a hard time tuning the 16 inch, I've never played clear heads, I tuned it with my fingers till' I couln't tight it more and it sounded GREAT. Their great for recording. It took me a long time to get used to them but then I loved them.

Great Sounding for Snares

By Dan

from Colorado

Comments about Remo Clear Pinstripe Head:

The Remo Pinstripe head is really great for taking out the extra ringing in a drum. Sometimes, it can take out a little too much ring, making the drum sound dead after a while. I discovered that these heads sound great on snare drums, I put one on my 13" Tama piccolo snare just because I didn't have any others to replace the stock head, and it sounds great! It mutes just the right amount of ringing, while giving plenty of attack. I'm soon going to try putting one on my 14" pdp birch snare.

Beast of a drumhead

By Billy

from Henderson, NV

Comments about Remo Clear Pinstripe Head:

Theese will significantly lower the sound of any tom, much better tone than Aquarian Studio-X (i had those first), muuch better tone than Evans EC1's (then i tried those out). if your looking for a that sound all these are supposed to produce, these are the top dogs. If you don't really know if this kind of head is for you, and you're looking to replace batter and reso, i would get a set of these and a set of clear Emperors, put these on as batter with those as reso first, and if it's to dead just switch em. you won't regret it

Great Drumhead

By Peter

from California

Comments about Remo Clear Pinstripe Head:

These are some pretty good drum heads, especially if you just bought your first kit and want to get some new heads (which you should.) They give a somewhat funky sound that's good for lots of different kinds of music. If you are on a budget, these are great heads. Try them out and see if you like them yourself.

Greatest Value -Hands Down

By Jrummerboy

from Brownsville, Tx

Comments about Remo Clear Pinstripe Head:

I've been a drummer for a couple of years now. When I first started, I set off on a search to find the products that would give me the best sound quality. After months of trial and error I finally found the drumheads that brought music to my ears. Remo's Pinstripe drumheads are and will be the only heads I will ever use when it comes to playing. Whether it's playing live for an audience or just jamming out on my own, it has to sound right. From experience I know that Remo drumheads are the greatest value- hands down.

Good heads for rock, metal

By Berserker

from behind my kit

Comments about Remo Clear Pinstripe Head:

Sturdy drumheads for hard hitters. They give my 6 ply maple toms just the right amount of resonance. I have a pack of Moon Gel I picked up along with the heads and haven't even taken it out of the packaging. Emperors are a little too open and Powerstrokes are way too dead. Try them, you won't be disappointed. If you can't tune a drum properly google 'drum tuning bible'. It will teach you. Keep beatin on them tubs!

Perfect tom sound at last!

By Jonathan Verdan

from Greenwich, CT

Comments about Remo Clear Pinstripe Head:

This head is perfect for anyone that wants i nice sound out of their toms without those overtones. I purchased these for my 10" and 12" toms. These were one of the best purchases i have made for my kit. All you do is slap those heads on, tune em' up, and enjoy that sound. Trust me, you won't regret buying these.

Very reliable for the price!

By Eric

from Fort Lauderdale, FL

Comments about Remo Clear Pinstripe Head:

I use 3 of these for all my toms, works great. I've had one on my floor tom for years at least. They look good and the need to take a lot of damage to get dents. I play hard so they get a lot of smudges but just get a rag and wipe them off. I'm not sure if this happened to only me though, when I bought it off this site it came dented around the rims so I had to put it on the tom and tighten all the way to get the dents out.

Brilliant Sound!

By Niko

from Elmwood Park, Illinois

Comments about Remo Clear Pinstripe Head:

These drum heads sound good on all of my toms! they have more of a deeper sound that makes it sound like a pearl set. these heads make my drum kit sound golden! i didn't like the sound of my drum kit (i didn't pick it out) the sound was to high pitch for me and then i decided maybe the new heads would help and they did! my set has never sounded better!

Brought my drums to life

By Ellen Hughes

from Salem, MA

Comments about Remo Clear Pinstripe Head:

I have a jazz kit made of mahogany and it has 12 and 14" toms. I have clear ambassador reso heads on the toms. I play classic rock music and had just taken off some coated emperors that sounded good but I personally needed more attack and volume out of the toms. I needed more cut and the coated emperors were too warm/soft on the attack for me. Great tone though. The mahogany is already warm as well and the wood and coated heads were just a bit too much. I put the pinstripes on and was shocked at how alive my drums sounded!! Wow, I just wasn't expecting it. It was these or the clear emperors. So happy I got these. Just the right amount of sustain. Very easy to tune and gave me the attack I needed out of this jazz kit. Never will I use another head for these toms. If you play classic rock on warmer wood and need more life/cut and attack for rehearsal or live, this is the way to go. Not too much overtone, just enough to project and perfect sustain. Highly recommend for Rock, classic rock and these must be a powerhouse for metal!! Love the sound of my be bop kit for rock now! Who says you can't play a jazz kit hard and get great tone! I just mic my18" bass drum through the PA in practices because of playing with two loud guitarists and a loud bassist!! Can't go wrong with these except if you want to play jazz.

These are PERFECT!

By Jacob Machen

from Sylacauga, Alabama

Comments about Remo Clear Pinstripe Head:

I got my first acoustic drum set back in December, and after playing my electronic kit for so long, I figured out that factory heads on acoustic drums are not the ones you want. So before I got new heads, I asked around to see what I could experiment with and figure out. I was never interested in Evans because they don't have enough resonance in a good head. I am the drummer for my church and my preacher said that Remo Pinstripes were the best tom heads he ever owned, so after trying many many drum heads, I tried these out. I LOVE them! These heads on the toms have the PERFECT amount of resonance I need for the music I play! I will never buy any different! These are at a great price too! Thanks so much for the help, support and advice, Guitar Center!

nice "fat" tone, but not all overtones are eliminated

By Matthew Nguyen-Ngo

from Gaithersburg, MD

Comments about Remo Clear Pinstripe Head:

I realize these are the unofficial industry standard for fat rock tom sounds, but in terms of shortening sustain and dampening overtones, there are heads that do it better. What I like about these heads is the durability. also, once they're broken in, they stay sounding good for quite a while in my experience.
