The Black Suede Emperor drumheads feature two plies of textured ebony 7.5-mil film with a unique non-reflective look. Provides a soft feel, focused warmth, and enhanced mid-range tones for snare drums and toms.
Their two-ply durability makes them ideal for hard-hitting applications such as pop, rock, R & B, punk, and funk. They are also ideal for resonant heads because of their esthetic look.

i had some evans on before this and as soon as i put them on and tuned them, they sound beautiful, all i have is a pearl forum 5piece, one step above beginner i think these make them sound fantastic, deff get these
I saw these on drums all over the place, heard the videos, and now own them myself. They are GODLY!!! Perfect sound with great lows and tight highs, very nice price and easy to tune. I recommend to everybody.
I put this on my Metalworks Snare and got a great r&b pop! The only downside is that it's not a good brush head, so jazz players beware. Besides that, it's awesome!
These new Remo Black Suede heads are fantastic. I put Emperors on the batter side and Ambassedor on the resonent side and have found the sound I've been trying to find for years. These heads are brighter than coated heads, but have more warmth of tone than clear heads. They're great for any genre of music you play and the tuning range is fairly broad. I've been experimenting with tunings and I can make my kit sound jazzy or have the deep power of metal. All in all these are great heads and I would recommend them to anyone. Oh and they look awesome on the kit. Love the flat black look and they sound as well as they look. Good job Remo... Just keep making them !!!!
These heads made my drums sound beautiful they have wonderful tone and the right amount of sustain they are just great
I put the Remo Black Suede Emperor Batter head on my Ludwig drumset. I have always hated the sound my 16in. floor tom has made. So I put this head on it, and what a difference it has made! My floor tom sounds alot better now. I don't use it anymore because I just don't use my floor tom anymore, but when I did it souned great. I recconmend this head.
I got these heads for my whole set about a month ago and they sound great! The also look great on my black set. The only thing is that on my 12" tom im already getting some dents and will soon have to replace the head and i havent had them very long. But none of my other drums have any dents so overall im pretty satisfied with these heads.
I recently purchased these heads along with some ambassadors (to use as my reso heads). I have to say I love them! It gives me the feel that playing is so much easier. I'm doing some things so well I didn't know I was good enough to do. As far as I can see, they hold up really well. There are some things though, If you have white tips on your sticks you will most likely get white specks on your heads. However, you can just scrap it off. They are also a little harder to tune because you can't see wrinkles as easy. One more thing, for some reason one of the heads turned a purple color. However, it still looks good. I recomend it for anyone who likes coated heads!
This head is great for a wide variety of things. It can be used for a batter, or resonant head. I put one on my 13" piccolo snare and cranked it up as high as it would go. It's got great sustain and gives me that pingy sound I want for my piccolo. I've got them for all of my resonant heads. they cancel out a lot of unwanted over tones. All in all, this is a great, and versitile head. Plus they look really cool too.
