The underlay ring on this Remo Powerstroke 3 Coated Bass Drum Head attenuates unwanted over-ring. Single ply.
I recently purchased this drum head and I have to say it made my drums sound beautiful. A nice deep warm tone that is good for all types of music and I personally think this is the best drum head I have ever used and i won't be using anything else anytime soon. The bottom line is that if you want an excellent sound that is very deep and warm then you will get this head. It is definately worth the money.

i just bought a custom c&c kit and it sounds soo great! ive only used coated kick heads for about a year now and ps3 coated works perfect! especially for the warm punchy sounds I like!

Great tone, great value. Double bassing never sounded so good.

This IS the head for a drummer who wants a solid punch without the ring or overtone that comes with other heads. It is the very best for a solid thud that pushes the bottom of the band or means a lot when an accent is needed in a jazz trio piece. I've used these sincethey came out and am extremely pleased with the sound and response I get.
