  • These Fiberskyns are great!

As reviewed by Jon W. on 9/18/2009

I replaced the factory heads that came on my Meinl Headliner with a set of Fiberskyns and was surprised at how much they improved the sound of my bongos. The 6 3/4" macho has a much better pop on finger rim shots and just enough ring (but not too much) on open strokes. The 8" hembra has a much deeper, richer tone now that also projects well and provides excellent tonal projection despite its low pitch. Both heads seem easier to play, are easy to tune and keep tuned, and always sound great at any volume. I love these heads and highly recommend them. In fact, I'm going to buy an extra set!

  • Great heads when tuned properly

As reviewed by Franklin Klock II on 4/18/2012

As an active drummer, I travel with my drums a lot. The weather here in the east varies from very cold to very hot. The main reason I use synthetic heads exclusively, is to prevent a catastrophic blow out if my drums go through a rapid temperature/humidity change or are left in a hot car. I very often play outside, and de-tuning then retuning is just not my thing. With these heads on my drums, it's not necessary, ever. I will tell you that getting the 6 3/4"macho head tuned to just the right pitch was a bit of a challenge. I'm used to cranking it down super tight to get a good finger pop. When I did that with the Remo head, it went dead in the center. After some trial and error, I found a happy medium. There is a small window of tensioning to make it sound just right. The 8" hembra head tuned very easily, probably because it has a lower tone and Remo used a different film for that head. All in all I am very happy with these heads. I use Remos on ALL my drums

  • softly, nice sound

As reviewed by Ernesto on 8/16/2009

I was so exceptic to use synthetic bongo heads because everybody say that there are nothing like the original skin heads, but I tried and I love them, and my friends love them to
