Product Information

The standard for great snare sound!

Remo Controlled Sound dual-zone heads have a combination of medium and heavy-duty drumhead characteristics. The outer area of the head's playing surface offers a midrange tone and sensitivity while the laminated center dot eliminates high frequency overtones and adds durability and tonal focus to meet the demands of heavier hitters.

Introduced in 1968, Controlled Sound heads are single-ply Ambassador-weight heads with a 5 mil thick black or clear dot in the center of the head. This combination offers a controlled, centered sound without undesirable overtones.

All around great head

I've seen this head used by many professional artists and decided to give these ones a try. I was no-less impressed. The dot really gives the sound a feeling of central control (get it?). This head is especcially great for tom batters and is even good for pipe band tenor drumming and my tenor friends in our local pipe band hold these particular Remo heads with high esteem.

Not bad for price

Bought this product based on the remo name and other reviews I read. It sounds okay and delivers as promised, not quite the pitch I had hoped for, but definitely worth the cost.

Uhh?

I bought this for my toms and they sound okay. Not the pitch I hoped for. But also there's a ring from the toms. I don't know if its the heads or my bottom head. But its not something I hoped for much. I like it though. And its good for practice. I haven't dented mine, just some smudges though/ but overall. Good but can use some improvment

Sound Dot Heads

This is obviously a quality and well-known head made by Remo. It sounds great on my 14" snare, however sounded like rubbish on my 16" floor tom. I wouldn't recommended for use on toms.
