Grip Fan Thai sticks continue the Regal Tip tradition of innovation. With superior construction and design, these Thai sticks are made from American birch dowels glued together with a reinforced mesh material. A vacuum-formed sleeve keeps your hands comfortable and adds durability for rim shots. Thai sticks are great to play when you want a fuller sound without blowing through the rest of the band.

First off, I'm not a heavy drummer, per se. I will use heavier sticks and pound it out when it works, but on my own, I like to hear what I'm doing. These have an amazing "touch". If you like brushes, me too, but really they are wispy and whippity, but these keep a brush like sound quality. They're from wood, so they're stiffer, like sticks. Like a bunch of sticks doing what you want, at fractionally different moments. (Think Dylan's "Just Like A Woman" snare drum sound-effortlessly played). I really like using all my multi-rod sticks, for different feeling, and these create the grooviest sounds, and I concentrate on the snare with these guys. The ONLY downside, and my reason for a "4", is that even though I'm pretty light, we all like to smack it, and the individual sticks will break. You still have a good bunch to work with for a while, but maybe Regal can improve a little? And one more thing, I have not used them live, just practicing and jamming on my set; Approx 12 hours actual play=95%wood lengths still intact. To me that's good! I love them!
