I'm 56; I've been a drummer for 45 years and if you are looking for a shorter version of my opinion, please just read the basic description, as it nails it. See that taper? I learned how to play so as not to break sticks. If you are an articulate drummer, these are for you. They are my favorite stick for ride cymbal. Match them to your K's or anything classic. Probably too heavy for jazz IMHO, but although they're long, metal will likely snap them! When I got serious in '74, my So Cal instructor put me onto these sticks. I actually still have a pair that I use in my home studio. I didn't know the "Calato's" were still available, and these are in my cart, like NOW! Something else to consider, kids-they cost less nowadays!
