uhh nasty

Comments about Raven Classic RC412 4x12 Guitar Speaker Cabinet:

This cab (in my opinion) is a complete waste of money. Last week, I played my Hughes and Kettner Matrix 100 head through this at a show, and it muffled the sound so much. I had to turn the head up past anything I've turned it to before in order to get any decent volume. Our band's other guitarist's 120 watt Crate Combo was louder. In addition to that, the tone was terrible. Hughes and Kettner heads are known for their beautiful clean channels, and solid distortion. This thing sounded like I kicked in the speakers, and defecated in the input jacks. I would not recommend this cab to any player of any genre. You'll regret it

Severely lacking bottom end

Comments about Raven Classic RC412 4x12 Guitar Speaker Cabinet:

I returned a used Randall rx412 halfstack that I bought used that unfortunately came with a busted speaker and a head that didn't work. While in the store, I tried several different amps and came to one with a Dime D-100 head on top of this cab. I was informed that the Dime head was essentially an updated Randall rg100 so I tested the half stack and was pleased with the sound at low volume. The cab itself is attractive, nice tolex and full size 30"x30"x14", unlike those tiny little Ibanez cabs that are a joke. However, when I got it home and cranked it, I was quiet dissapointed with the flabby low end and low volume, and overall lack of distortion even with the gain cranked. At first, I thought it was the head and contemplated taking it back but when I plugged it into my friend's line 6 spider IV cab which I absolutely hate, it sounded amazing through that. Also, when I looked inside the cab, I discovered to my utter disappointment, the speaker magnets were tiny with no label. On top of that, they are only rated 30 watts each and give little breakup. I will be taking this cab back soon and getting the B-52 LS412 400w cab for the same price. It does however look legitimate when you replace the Raven logo with a Peavey logo from one of those Vypyr series amps ;)

Great for the price

Comments about Raven Classic RC412 4x12 Guitar Speaker Cabinet:

It seems that the gap between budget and high end gear is narrowing. After trying Bogner, Marshall and Egnater cabs this Raven sounded quite decent. It's good for clean vintage sounds and for the moderate gain crunch I use. If you are into the "insanity" type distortions it might not be the best cab, though.

Good and cheap

Comments about Raven Classic RC412 4x12 Guitar Speaker Cabinet:

Okay so I was at Guitar Center and was going to pick up a marshall 1960 a cab. I saw this Raven cab over in the corner, it was marked down a few dollars so I said well I'll try it out. Put it right next to the Marshall Cab with a Boogie head, Of course the marshall was great, but for the price this Raven Cab didn't sound bad at all, and it servers a purpose, I'm not a Name brand snob, yes the marshall might be built better, but i play at home and with some friends a lot, so I went with this Raven cab, it's sound great, looks great and pretty solid. If your poor like me pick it up and rock through it. I just needed something to push a JCM 800 Mod amp. I like it!!!
