  • I'm craven for Raven!!!

As reviewed by Justin on 11/10/2008

Raven is a new brand. When a new brand can make it in the world in only it's first year, you gotta give em credit. I like simplicity. You can tell by my rig. Gibson Les Paul Studio into Dunlop Original Crybaby Wah pedal into this Raven RG100. Then I use a Vox 2 button foot switch for switching the channels and turning the reverb on and off. It can go from blues to metal. It is very good. The built-in tuner is great. Some people say this amp is good. Look at the type of music they play. Death metal, Black metal, Vegan metal (It is a genre believe it or not). This amp can get you a classic Led Zeppelin tone and it can get you a SRV tone and a Metallica tone. You just need to tweak the EQ to your liking and your set. THIS IS LOUD!!!!! It can play an arena I bet. Granted you will be mic'd. No matter what you will be mic'd so why carry around 12 cabs and 12 heads when you can get a 2 by 12 combo which sounds incredible. It is an off-brand but I guarantee you it will be a house hold name in a matter of years. It is not tube but sounds amazing. This works well with your effect pedals. There are no effects but who cares. All you need is a wah and you are set. The clean channel is angelic and you can get a great sound with the reverb. The distortion on here is great but if you are into death metal buy a stomp box. No matter what amp you choose, if you play death metal, you will always need more gain. When you get this amp, you'll forget about the rest. Marshall who? Mesa who? Raven is the way to go.

  • Awesome

As reviewed by Sam on 2/19/2008

This amp has an awesome sound, but no built-in effects. I at first wondered how an amp of this size could be that cheap but, that's why no build-in effects. All in all it's a good amp for anybody that needs to upgrade to a larger amp from a starter.

  • great basic amp

As reviewed by Mike on 4/27/2010

if your looking for an amp and just gets the job done, this is for you. it has a great clean channel. you can hook up any type of pedle/effect up to it and it will sound amazing. it doesnt have all the frills that alot of combo amps have today, and thats a good thing. the lack of all the extra crap keeps the sound basic and clean. it has more then enough power for the casual player or a small gig. ive had this amp for almost 6 months and i cant say a bad thing about it.
