Like I've said, I've seen better. But since I'm teaching an 8-year-old girl how to play guitar on a pink mini-Strat, I'm not going to be going out and buying her a $90 cable. Honestly, the coiled white Fender cable might be better for her, but these Horizons will do the trick just fine, even if I do have to do some soldering down the road. Maybe by then her roadie can do it for her... assuming that he's been trained to NASA STD-8739.3 (I don't mess around with signals, man...)
They are pretty much featureless. For anyone who has dealt with cable problems, that translates into 1. No braided jacket 2. No strain relief 3. Non-directional. Pretty much what you would expect from a very basic cable.
I have own three Horizon cables in the past, and they have all had to be reworked. As one who builds cables for space flight hardware testing, I can tell you without boasting that I can make better cables. However, I can't make them for this price, nor can I make them in these colors. The lack of strain relief will be remedied as soon as I get them home. Also, the hot wire tends to break loose after a short time, due to a complete lack of stress bends and tinning. And I don't know if they're using no-clean flux in their solder joints, but I'll definitely be using eutectic solder and scrubbing all the flux residue off the center pin for a while. But the cable itself is halfway decent, and the jacks are pretty standard. I don't expect much more from a cable in this price range.
If you've got to have these colors, this is still probably the way to go. Braided cables tend to cost quite a bit more than they're worth, so I don't mind skipping out on that for under $15. Just TRY to find a guitar cable in pink for your little girl/student for less money.

The first one I bought was years ago and it lasted for years. They must have recently reduced the wire considerably. I had a new one go bad within weeks after purchase and when I placed three cables on my work bench for repair, this one was unrepairable. There was so little copper and it was so frail the copper that was there broke when I tried to twist it. Forget about upgradeing plugs there is not enough metal to upgrade with. I then took apart the other new one to check the connection. Same story, a teeny tiny bit of copper at both connnections. I have since upgraded my brand and I will post what I find. I suggest anyone buying cords with the unscrewable plugs check the amount of copper in the connection. If enough of us complain they will probable upgrade their standards. Unless you want a disposable cord for home I suggest you drop this brand.

Comments about Rapco Horizon Instrument Cable Assorted Colors:

I run both guitar and bass through 3 different amps simultaneously, and these cords help me keep things organized. One color for instruments-> pedal board, another for board-> amps, and still another for various connections in between. Being able to pick these up in a variety of lengths and colors really helps make set up and breakdown a breeze. They're not as hardy and don't have the same sound quality as some more expensive cables, but will probably meet your needs unless you're a pro or an ogre. Plus, if they do fail, they're covered by a lifetime warranty. A SOUND INVESTMENT.

Bought a few of these 2+ years ago, all still working great! Why be normal and play with black cables? I love the colors, and I've gigged with these over 75 times... Still holding up!

These cables are good cables. They work well, I don't have any problems with them, I like that I can choose different colors so I can always distinguish which cables are mine or what color is used for each function.

Comments about Rapco Horizon Instrument Cable Assorted Colors:

Quality is good, about as good as it needs to be. I haven't had any problems with several new cords I have purchased over the past few years. Looks like they will last a while like some of my older cords from Horizon:

I still have a few of these from the 80s! One has seen a lot of use as it was my main cord for 15+ years. It still works, I just got tired of the color.

Comments about Rapco Horizon Instrument Cable Assorted Colors:

Thought I try these out, really like the color selection, easy to see where your cable is at all times. The cables tend to bind up a bit and don't slide smoothly across the floor. Sound quality is decent. Best used as a static cable from pedal board to amp but does a decent but not great job attached to the guitar. The quality, price and the color options makes it a good choice for practice, backup, and static use.

I bought one of these in orange and have had no problem with it yet, but I bought the green one to go with my green bass, and there is some signal noise and loss. I may have to repair it, but for now it is good enough for practice. It's not high on my list of recommendations for playing out, but it's a decent quality, inexpensive cable for practicing.
