Comments about Rane SL4 Interface for Serato Scratch Live:

This box is awesome no doubt!.
Great for every use. If you use Turntables, "Is no brainer" really. If you want to use SL4 box with Pioneer CDJ's, look for different ways to connect your SL4 box to your CDJ's. Watch Youtube tutorials like this ones. Just copy & paste this: how connect SL4 to CDJ
If you use the CD controller as recommended by the Manual, you may find that your CDJ's act only as a Turntable, and don't even display options or playlist on the CDJ screen plus you will not be able to use many other features like loops and cue points. Ones I follow these videos instructions, I found that I get playlist display on my CDJ screen plus now I can switch from the computer to Flash drive or SSD card from the screen of my CDJ. I love that!.

    SL4 Kernel Panic Issue

    By DJ Slingshot NYC

    from New York, NY

Comments about Rane SL4 Interface for Serato Scratch Live:

I had been using my SL1 for about 5 years without any major issues. I decided to upgrade for the superior sound quality and ability to connect 4 decks. Overall the unit functions as promised. Recording is clean and the music does sound better however there is one major problem for me. If you are running OS X Snow leopard, Lion or Mountain Lion SL4 will crash your Mac if you plug the unit in after starting Scratch Live. The only workarounds are to remove the Asio drivers or plug in SL4 and then launch Scratch Live. I was told that this should be fixed in the next release of Scratch Live but for now the "Kernel Panic" issue is very real. This was a big disappointment for me. If you don't need 4 decks I would suggest saving yourself some money and headache. Go with the SL3.
