Leave those records at home

Rane has done it again with the TTM 57SL, dropping a high-quality mixer packed full of features. They've taken the already amazing TTM 56 mixer and put it on steroids. The obvious draw is the face controls for the Serato Scratch Live software, but there's way more to this mixer than that. First off, they've added full kills to the 3-band eq, which can be toggled to hold or switch from within the Serato software. They've also added FX, which at first seem difficult to work with, but once you get a hang of the control from the mixer, you can utilize them without the software. Although only two effects are currently available (Echo/Delay and Filter), Rane has promised new effects will be available soon. The Serato software itself is very intuitive and is constantly being upgraded and worked on by the Rane team. On high end machines there is no noticable lag when scratching with the control vinyl, although if you have under 512MB RAM you may suffer from a bit of latency. This mixer really has too many functions to list. It'd be better to go get a feel for the TTM 57SL at a local shop. This is really one of the best mixers out there, and a great value for the price.

The Last Mixer You Need

I give it up to Rane for fusing the TTM 56 and Serato Scrath Live to create the TTM 57sl. I don't need to bring all my records anymore just my laptop. The software is very easy to use. If you operate itunes, you can operate Serato. Records your own mixes is a plus. The hardware has everythig that the 56 has but with built in effects kill swicthes. One of best features is the mixer is it acts like a sound card so i record onto others programs ike Logic and Protools. there are two minor downfalls one is that the 57 don'est have the contour control like the 56 has and of course the price. But with all this mixer can do it's worth it. RANE TTM 57SL A God among others mixers.

Satisfied

I love this mixer. The sound is warm, and while I wish the knobs where as big as the djm 800, and while I wish there were a 3 channel rotary version for the house dj (serato needs to come up with a 3 to 4 channel version), I am happy to report that I am satisfied with the product. The mixer also feels very sturdy; and last but not least, one of the most important, yet unmentioned, features of this product is the 3 yr. warranty! I don't think you will get this with any other product, but correct me if I'm wrong. It is a bit expensive but look around and have Guitar price match. Peace.
