Signature RainSong sound in a deep-chambered, carbon-fiber and glass-fiber body.

The RainSong Hybrid acoustic-electric guitar combines carbon fiber with glass fiber construction to achieve the signature RainSong sound and road- tough stability at an attractive price. This glass- and carbon-fiber guitar is wonderfully versatile. Combining the best qualities of large and small-bodied guitars, the RainSong H-WS1000N2 guitar's body shape is suited for a variety of musical situations. A large, deep chamber gives the RainSong WS glass- and carbon-fiber guitar strong projection and rich bass. The narrow waist and tight upper bout allow for a ringing treble, good balance, and clear definition of individual notes. Overall, the Hybrid acoustic-electric guitar is impeccably balanced. The shapely curves and light weight make the RainSong WS a comfortable acoustic guitar to cradle or stand with. The extra-deep cutaway encourages playing up the fretboard. The N2 neck is a result of an extensive, long-term collaboration with the renowned artist Steve Miller and master luthier John Bolin. The neck design is based on a modified "U" profile that has been popular in guitars since the 1950s. The N2 has a substantial feel that is ergonomically sound and results in better transfer of string vibration energy to the soundboard. RainSong's N2 features a truss rod that is accessible from the headstock. Graphite does not warp or bow with changes in humidity and temperature. The purpose of the acoustic guitar's truss rod is to allow customization of the relief to suit individual preferences. At the heart of the RainSong Hybrid H-WS1000N2 guitar is an impressive electronics system, the Prefix+T. This preamp features ultraquiet electronics and volume, bass, treble, and semi-parametric contour controls. In addition to a built-in chromatic tuner, the Prefix+T adds a brilliance control and a phase switch and notch filter to help fight feedback.

  • This is the one I'd have.

As reviewed by Comrad Gregor on 1/27/2011

Went to my local GC today, and decided to check out the high end acoustics, even though I'm more of an electric player. And I played a few Gibsons Taylors, and the like until my eye was caught by the carbon fiber. I took it off the wall and I was absolutely amazed at the treble and bass response of this guitar! The action was nice and low, the neck has a nice "U" shaped profile. (probably better for those with a decent sized pair of hands honestly). This guitar is pretty light for the sized (obviously its carbon fiber) but it feels really strong and well made. It's a ridiculous amount cheaper than many of the other guitars of comparable quality. And on top of all that, this isn't some picky expensive acoustic that you have to take the utmost care with or it'll crack or dry out or any of that garbage. So I've gotta say that this is the one I'd have.

  • This is the One

As reviewed by Steve Rhoten on 10/18/2011

I have been in the market for a year for a new acoustic. I have done a ton of research and I wanted a great guitar and good value. I went to a local GC in Glen Burnie, MD and tried a few Martins and Taylors. This was the only carbon fiber guitar they had. I picked it up and gtave it a try. The tone, volume and projection were just incredible. The tone was warm and well balanced. It is amazingly light weight. The action is fast and low and the neck nice and comfortable. Five months later, my wife finally told me to go buy a new acoustic. I am in heaven with this guitar. The pictures on the website do not do justice to the beauty of this guitar. It has a nice glossy finish and the carbon fiber weave is clearly visible. This is a great guitar for the money. I am very happy with my Rainsong Hybrid and recommend them to anyoen in the market for a new flat top.

  • Gloss Finish

As reviewed by Cliff Bloodgood on 7/8/2011

I've recently purchased a Rainson H-WS1000N2 from the Guitar Center. The service was great as usual. I play fingerstyle with my own nails enhanced with hardener. I was somewhat dissapointed when the the gloss finish below the soundhole became scratched after a single performance and some rehearsal time. Since there is no pickguard I assumed the finish would not scratch so easily or so quickly. As far as sound and playability the guitar is great. Perhaps the gloss finish is not the way to go. The N2 neck may take a little getting used to. The Guitar Center has given me some possible solutions. Rainsong has not responded to my inquiry yet.
