This is the ABY you need in your gig bag - especially if you have the backline supplied for you at each gig.

Not only does this cool box give you A and B and of course - both - but this little deal can isolate your amps from each other (in case of buzz), you can switch the B signal 180 degrees out (if you are playing a Deluxe Reverb or Twin and want to simply switch between the two channels), and a ground lift for ground loop issues.

I use this for either switching between two amps - one for rhythm and the other for leads - or like I stated before - if you have a Deluxe Reverb you just use one channel - like the tremolo and reverb channel - for the rhythm stuff - crank the first channel and make that the B channel on the switch - and you have instant lead channel. Sometimes I even bring a little distortion pedal for the lead channel just to push it a little - and you have a great little classic channel switching tube combo that sounds fantastic. You can't loose!

The Tuner Out is a neat feature but is not mutable - the neat thing here is that you can put another amp on the other side of the stage for the bass player or drummer and use the tuner out to send that signal over there.

Everyone needs an ABY box from time to time -0 this one has the options that you can really use - so buy it today.

This pedal's ABY function does work. Switching between A and B keeps good tone. But when you activate both A and B, there is tone suck so hard and chops off so much of the highs that it alsmost sounds like a wah rolled back. Do not get if you plan on using two amps simultaneously.

Comments about Radial Engineering Tonebone BigShot ABY Passive Switcher:

I got this to run two amps simultaneously and to use with a Digitech Trio+ to bypass the Trio to play on the amp without sharing what's coming out of the Trio's looper.

A few things. You still have to play musical power plugs to get this a quiet as possible. This seems to work with two of my amps but not the third. That amp in the system just hums along. The switches on the BigShot didn't help.

The second is the B channel has a transformer that colors the sound a bit tinny. The manual notes this.

So not sure I would go on stage with this.

Comments about Radial Engineering Tonebone BigShot ABY Passive Switcher:

It does everything it's supposed to.. I tried the MXR A/B/Y, but all the noise from the ground loop, etc. made playing through 2 high gain amps simultaneously, or separately, impossible (I use a Krankenstein+ along with a Randall Warhead or X2). I returned it and got this, and the problem was solved. The only downside is the lack of LED indicators when toggling amps. When I need the clean channel on one amp, I have to stomp on a few switches to get there. That's what I did like about the MXR. If the Radial made their's look similar to the MXR, it'd be perfect. But, nonetheless, it does work.

Works for Rocksmith 2014

Comments about Radial Engineering Tonebone BigShot ABY Passive Switcher:

Well, I don't use this for any exciting on-stage or recording purposes, but I have been looking for something that would let me send the bass to both Rocksmith 2014 and my amp so I can make the bass loud enough.

I've tried a simple "Y" cable and another switch box (not being coy, it was a long time ago and I don't remember what it was). Neither worked, resulting in a lot of hum and feedback. The "line lift" switch on the other box that was supposed to correct that actually made it worse.

This one works, and I can now hear the bass over the Rocksmith track.

Not just for fun (although it is) once you can actually hear your own bass over the bass in the Rocksmith track, you can hear and correct imperfections in your technique.

I'd swear the tone selected in Rocksmith comes over the amp as well, but that seems a little impossible... :-)

Comments about Radial Engineering Tonebone BigShot ABY Passive Switcher:

I have two of these. One I use to split a guitar signal cleanly into two on my pelboard. I have A going into the boss me - 80 and B going into the Roland GR - 55. The other one I ran backwards combining the two effect processors back to one output. It lets me use both of them independently or at the same time with no loss of tone or signal.

Comments about Radial Engineering Tonebone BigShot ABY Passive Switcher:

Didn't take much digging to finds out that Radial is a go-to for this. Was surprised at the heft of it. Very small footprint for my (or any) pedal board. Does exactly as advertised. Slapped it on my board, lot's of hum and out of phase (as expected when running two separate rigs and zero fault of the Tonebone). Activated the LIFT/180º/ISO switches. Totally gone, and the full sound I was hoping for came to life. Great job, Radial, and as always, a pleasure to work with Musicians Friend.

Comments about Radial Engineering Tonebone BigShot ABY Passive Switcher:

This little box is great. It completely solved my ground loop hum issues. I run my guitar directly into the input jack. Then I have output A going through its own pedal chain to my Orange micro dark 4x12 rig. Then I have output B going through its own chain to my Line 6 Spider 3 for a clean channel. Toggling between each output gives me a clean and dirty channel. But I am really impressed with combining both output channels to send a signal to both amps. I am able to dial in some thick sounds using 2 amps. I love this pedal!

I'm using this as an amp switcher. My rig is similar to Scott Lucas from local h where I play through my main guitar rig and a bass amp simultaneously.

Couldn't do it without the bigshot! This little guy works great, grounds very well and is perfect for anyone looking to switch amps on stage on the fly.

                Highly recommended A+++++++

I use this switch in reverse to plug a bass/guitar or banjo/guitar into the same amplifier. True bypass means true bypass! As a multi-instrumentalist this allows a quick switch for me during shows and performances. It's also nice on the "both" setting when making music with saved loops!
