The Radial Tonebone Bassbone is a smart EQ/DI pedal that manages your bass signal with 2 separate channels and a powerful EQ that overrides the preamp's tone settings. The Tonebone allows switching between a traditional passive bass and a modern active bass during a gig without lengthy and awkward adjustments to the preamp, EQ, amp, and instrument level. This EQ and DI Box can also be used with a single bass to provide 2 separate signals finessed by its incredible enhancement capabilities. The integrated boost, variable gain, and effects loop can be used individually or together. A balanced XLR out sends the complete signal direct to the board for PA-only gigs and studio time. Added heft and punch to your tone is like a secret weapon. The Radial Tonebone Bassbone is powered by a 15VDC power supply.

Perfect for running an active and Passive bass simultaneously! Great XLR Out for live performance and recording and an effects Loop switch that keeps your tone clean.
This box was everything I needed specially owning an active bass and playing in small venues where hauling my 115 bass amp is not a really good idea. My purpose for buying this DI box however was to sculpt my tone. And sculpt my tone it did. My bass never sounded how I wanted it to sound (despite it being 3-band active) until I bought this pedal. The presets on channel 1 are amazing and really brings out a very nice tone to the bass. However, the EQ on channel 2 is the best. I have never used an EQ like it that is very sensitive and direct to the point. I always wanted and preferred a graphic EQ over parametric EQ but this made me love parametric EQs. Since channel 2's EQ is active, it is very accurate to use and over rides the amp EQ settings. However, even when I'm using this box, I can still notice subtle changes on my sound when I tweak the amp EQ. But since this box pretty much satisfies my preference for tone, I usually set my amp EQ to flat. Whether you are using one bass or two bass guitars, this box works perfectly well. If only one bass is used, you have the option of two presets of tone (channel 1 or 2), very convenient if you play different types of music at a time and with one step on the toggle switch, you can get a jazz tone to a precision punchy bass tone. I also tried recording tracks with this pedal and it didn't need much adjusting on the mixer because the tone was just superb. I would recommend this pedal to any bass player looking for a pedal that can sculpt their bass tone and a DI pedal so you won't worry of hauling amplifiers to sets and gigs every time. I use this every time (whether I have a great sounding amp or no amp at all). You will never regret buying this pedal. It is worth every penny.
I needed a step up from a bare-bones switcher to use multiple basses on my showroom gig in Vegas, and the Bassbone more than fits the bill! You have EQ settings on one channel (VERY usable) and 2 preset EQ settings on the other channel, and between the two you can get equal settings volume-wise, also the switches are completely silent. Also, I read before purchasing that there were complaints of the bassbone sapping your volume. I don't have an issue with this as the volume knobs are completely passive, meaning that the loudest setting on the volume knob is the volume you put into the box. There is a boost knob that provides extra volume but I don't use the boost knob and opt to have the 2 volume knobs close to maxed out. I'm very happy with my purchase and will be using this unit for years to come.
I play a good bit of pit work, and so have to quickly switch between electric and double bass. I've played the N.Y. touring companies for Secret Garden, Grease, and Spamalot this year alone, and this pedal is a dream come true. I simply set the 1 channel for electric bass, then e.q. the 2 channel for double bass, and line out to the sound guy. I also like that I can keep a tuner in the chain without sound interference. This is the quitest and quickest device I've ever used. I have become such a fan that I had all my accessories pockets refitted to hold the pedal in the electric cases. I use Fender, Warwick, Ibanez, and a turn of the century double bass by Baranyi - they all love this thing! I simply won't play amplified without it.
Just set it and forget it. Never worry about switching basses on stage again. I can use my active and passive basses without worrying about changing my settings on my amp when I switch between the two. Great sound from this pedal. My only complaint would be that there is not much flexibility on channel 1 due to the preset eq options, but that is no problem really. The boost is a great new world for me as well. When I need to pop out front in the mix I can, and then drop back out when my work is done. I am not a pedal guy, but I love this onee. Seems a bit pricy, until you own it... Trust me it is worth every penny.
