Big, fat, mega-searing tube tone without modeling!

The Radial Tonebone Classic Tube Drive Pedal is the perfect choice for players that want extra growl in their sound. From a light crunch to severe overdrive, the Classic offers tremendous flexibility. You get that natural, even-harmonic distortion only a tube can provide. From the sweet spot of a vintage tweed to hot-rod amps that smoke the blues, it's all here.

5 knobs and 3 switches make it easy to sculpt your tone the way you like. Level provides overall output level control to your amp. High and low EQ knobs let you fine tune the tonal character, while the filter knob provides a gentle roll-off for extra-bright amps. The drive knob adjusts the input level for optimum distortion. For switches, the Top End offers Bright, Flat, and Dark settings to shape the feel and overall tone. Mid Boost is designed with classic amp sounds in mind, and gives you a 7dB or 12dB boost so your solos cut through. Drive Gain sets the distortion range to low, medium, or high. The heavy-duty footswitch controls a true-bypass circuit and a bright red LED can be seen on any stage. Includes power supply.

Radial Engineering Tonebone Classic Tube Distortion Pedal Features:

  • Very Good Product.

As reviewed by James Steele jr. on 2/21/2012

I've had this pedal for a couple of weeks now and I have to say, It was more than I've ever spent on a pedal before, It was worth it. I use it with two Solid State Amps, One being my Peavey Studio Pro 40. This Amp sounds good already, I run a Boss GE-7 EQ in the Loop, but when I put the Tonebone in through the front of the amp, It really warms up the sound. I also run it with my Crate Powerblock that I run with a CD player and EQ for headphone practice. Again Great results. This pedal is very sensitive and every tiny turn of a knob brings different results. That is taking some getting used to. All in all, A little tube warmth is better than none, so I am happy with this pedal. It has a very Wide range of possibilities. Very good quality. The only problem is the Power Supply, At 15VDC it requires a special power supply (included) but I unplug it when not in use because it seems to stay warm and I fear burning it out. Other than that, Great Pedal.

  • More "natural" than a Hot British

As reviewed by Dogstarr1 on 9/26/2006

I've owned both the Hot British and the Tonebone Classic, but I recently sold the Hot British because I think the Classic has a more natural tone and feel. Although this is marketed as more of an overdrive than a high gain distortion, you'll find it has a very wide range from slight grit to at least an early 90's Grunge/Metal sound. It's a fairly easy to use with switches to change voicing that are pre-set, but can sound very different depending on the position of the filter knob that works in conjunction with the Mid-boost switch; it also has your usual knobs for treble and bass boost/cut. So, a good pedal that will lend a bit of tube tone to your sound and not add much noise, if any, depending on how you set the gain.

What a pedal! This things rocks. it can do so much. It goes from a light dusting of distortion for an indie sound all the way to a heavy metal sound. I bought it at christmas in boston because you can't get it in the UK and when i showed it to my friends; they were blown away. if you want a great distortion pedal; the tonebone classic is the way to go. BUY IT NOW!
