Everyone needs to tune their axe, whether it's a banjo, a bass, a harp or that one thing a lot of people seem to be playing today. For the musician on a budget, this is an easy place to cut costs, but if you're just getting started on this whole "music" thing, this definitely isn't one place to skimp on and grab a pitch pipe or just hope you'll be able to tune it by ear. Even if you're an experienced musician who just needs a decent, cheaper, and surprisingly durable tuner, this one's the way to go. I've tried it under a thousand different conditions, including tuning a guitar while my friend was jamming 10 ft. away. It's worked spectacularly for acoustic, bass and even for voice. I've dropped it more times than should be legally allowed and it's held together perfectly anyway. I'd highly recommend to anyone who plays any instrument other than drums.

Had this tuner for a little over a year now and it has served me well, but it certainly has problems with the lows. The display is very decent, but it doesn't pick up the frequencies of the fifth/sixth string on 5/6-string basses, and just this past weekend my bandmate couldn't get it to register his guitar's sixth string which he had in drop-C. I'd recommend a cheaper Korg with less features or a more expensive Boss tuner.

I'm looking for a new one

By

Comments about Qwik Tune Q12E Exogenic Chromatic Tuner:

New to music got a Bass and Guitar. Got this tuner and it is extremely difficult to use. Plug it in hit a string needle goes or not, hit the string again and it moves or not again. It is very frustrating as you tune the needle won't repeat even if you don't touch the tuning keys.

great product

Comments about Qwik Tune Q12E Exogenic Chromatic Tuner:

Works perfectly for me, I am a beginner so I didn't want to spend a lot of money to start, so I went to my local GC and the sales person showed me this one and I took it home and it works great. My teacher also said it was a great one for the price and for my purposes.

not thrilled

By

from New Orleans, LA

Comments about Qwik Tune Q12E Exogenic Chromatic Tuner:

I used the Q12E and found it to be adequate, though not the most user friendly tuner I've ever had. The price/features is what lured me away from brands that I trusted. It served its purpose for about 8 or 9 months and then I turned it on to tune up before a gig and it had a meltdown. I replaced it with another more reputable brand.

Good Tuner

By

Comments about Qwik Tune Q12E Exogenic Chromatic Tuner:

This is a very good tuner if you know what you are doing. I would not recommend this to a starting musician because it is pretty complicated. It takes a little bit to get to know everything this baby can do but once you do it can be very very usefull. 5 stars!

Qwik Tune

Comments about Qwik Tune Q12E Exogenic Chromatic Tuner:

The great thing about this tuner is it makes you have a good ear... because you have to have it close to the tune before it will help you out. Once you are in the vicinity its a pretty good tuner it will get you pretty close.

Comments about Qwik Tune Q12E Exogenic Chromatic Tuner:

I bought this a few months ago, and i'm having problems with it. Ive snapped a few strings because this thing wouldnt tell me how close and what chord i was on. Im new to guitar so i cant tune by ear. I have a lot of problems on the E and A strings. Its not to bad it just takes awhile before it will respond.

Best Tuner Ever (For the money)

By

from Naperville, IL

Comments about Qwik Tune Q12E Exogenic Chromatic Tuner:

Yeah there are probably better tuners out there on the market today... but for the price that you pay for this tuner is well worth it. I recently purchased one of these little guys at a Guitar center close to my house because I had been sooooooo frustrated with my previous tuner that I actually crushed it. This tuner gives you a full range to tune to and does it quickly. I didnt have to mess with it for any period of time to figure out what quirks that it might have or wheter it was "true" or not. I plugged in... tuned my guitar (Very quickly I might add) and was playing a perfectly tuned guitar within the first couple of minutes. It also helps that they use Exogenic technology that disolves any outside noise so the tuning is way more accurate than with traditional tuners. This is a great product for the price that you pay and does the same job as some of the more expensive tuners a little better.
