It holds my keyboards from front to back, nothing is hanging over, very sturdy. The only flaw I really have is I got the wheels for it and thinking the frame had welded in nuts. NOT and if you get the wheels they don't have nuts either there's no way to secure them. But I would reccommend the stand to anyone.

Accessories do not work well with other accessories. If you are planning to get a Z type stand, do some serious checking. The mic boom attachment comes with short bolts that cannot go all the way through the metal tubing. So you have to figure a way to get the bolts into the holes from the inside. Customer service is non-existant about purchasing plastic end caps, so don't loose them.
Nice amount of accessories and very sturdy. Height is a little high, but can be configured with many parts.
Heavy duty.
Quite costly especially when you add accessories that will not work together. I cannot add second tier accessory cross bar if I have boom mic attached.

Z-726 KEYS STAND STILL THE ONLY CHOICE

By lancaihe

About Me Professional Musician

Pros

  • Holds Items Securely
  • Portable
  • Stable

Cons

  • Too Many Separate Pieces

Best Uses

  • Performances

Ok, well, after trying and returning many stands I ended up buying this one again. There is just no way around it. It's sturdy, period! It looks good and performs well, but, it's got too many pieces that could, and have become lost during transport. I really wish they could redesign this with more portability in mind. It's really the only dependable stand out there.

Good, solid stand - needs casters

Very adjustable, adjustments stay where set, very stable especially when loaded. Flexible top-tier design. The main elements of the stand I received were about 34" apart, edge-to-edge. Factory holes in components lined up and were properly sized for hardware. I bought some suitable casters and drilled out the stationary mounts to install them. I also reinforced the lower spars where the casters mount. Portability was essential for me, and casters were necessary. This raised the stand about 4", but it's still within easily usable height - at least for the stool and chairs I use. Playing while standing would present no difficulty. The stand is holding 88-key weighted and 47-key semi-weighted controllers. Each is easily accessible. Except for not having factory-installed casters, I have no complaints about the stand. As another poster noted, the assembly instructions produce a configuration that differs from the picture shown on Quik-Lok's web site.

Great stand for any money!

I never worry about buying anything on line at GC cause they always seem to have quality stuff! This stand is no exception. Strong, light and reasonably priced. Always deliver within a couple days. Good shopping experience.

More than I expected

By Mark Cornell

from Roaring Spring, PA

I got this stand due to the 2nd tier and the price. I have another Z stand from another manufacturer and based on my experience with it, I was expecting an average, marginally stable stand....Boy was I wrong! This stand is solid. Heavier duty than what I expected by a mile. I have an Akai MPK88 sitting on the bottom and a Novation SK MkII on the top and this thing doesn't move while I'm pounding away. I will say that its not as "portable" as other stands out there but if you need a stand for the home or studio or don't mind taking a few extra minutes for disassembly/assembly, this is your stand!

        Z-726 Keyboard Stand Review

        By Robert Young

        from Washington State

Would have easily been an 8 or 9 except for the improperly drilled holes discussed above. The stand is sturdy, easy to take down, and very adjustible for standing or setting.
Features seem good for a basic product. Sturdy, good two board stand, fairly easy to take down and transport.
Really the quality is good, EXCEPT my stand came with improperly drilled holes for the rear upper cross member. The holes did NOT line up at all on one side of the stand, making it impossible to assemble the stand. Being fairly mechanically inclined and having a large tool inventory, I did what the manufacture FAILED to do and re-drilled the hole correctly in a straight line. After that the stand assembled correctly and works great.

If the stand came with both side supports correctly drilled, I would have given the stand a 8 or 9, because except for that one manufacturing defect everything else is great.
        Very sturdy for the price.

        Stable and Well Made

        By sam brinkley

        from Everett, Washington

I found this stand to be extremely stable and well made. It went together very simply. I expected that the design would have been a bit unsteady, but to my surprise, the stand fit together so well that it is VERY stable. The design of the cross beams helped greatly with the stability. This stand hold a very heavy Yamaha Motif XF8 with no effort what so ever. I would buy again and would definitely recommend this product!

        Z-726 Keyboard Stand

        By Gary Weber

        from PA

This stand is a great stand! I have used a lot of stands over the years and this one is one of the better I've seen. I have seen articles complaining about the stand being only good for "stand up" playing. Based upon the instructions that come with the stand, that would be true - THEY ARE BACKWARDS!!! If you purchase one of these, make sure you set it up like the picture in the Q-Lok website, NOT with the instructions. The stand set up this way is very sturdy and works for both standing and sitting depending upon the height adjustment.

If you are a singing performer, the mic boom ad on is a good choice too. The only thing I had to do was add extra holes in the second tier height adjusters as the out of the box set up is way to high for my use.

Transporting this for gigs is an issue. I purchased a bicycle soft bag used for breaking down bikes for travel purposes. It is not a perfect fit, but it keeps the roadies from destroying your stand!
