This fold-flat stand is worth a lot more than it costs. It is so easy to set up for use or fold up for transport. The frame is absolutely rock-solid when in open position. There is no wobble or front to back sway like on many of the x-style stands. The above qualities are actually secondary to why I selected it. The reason I first looked at it was because I need to play from a regular chair-height position - this arrangement gives me plenty of legroom beneath it. As a matter of fact - I am a 51 yr.old, full-time wheelchair-dependent musician. This stand is PERFECT for me to play from either an ordinary chair or from a wheelchair!!!!!!!!

This stand was great for the first couple of years. Then something very simple went very wrong. An M6 bolt fell out of a leg and needed replaced, which normally would be an easy fix costing a few pennies for a replacement. However, the machining and assembly tolerances are terrible and it's been impossible to get a new bolt in place because the assembly cannot be realigned even after total disassembly. So, beware and take care to always keep all the bolts in place and you will have a good experience.

Comments about Quik-Lok M-91 Monolith Single-Tier Keyboard Stand:

Super easy to set up out of the box. Simply unfold the legs and set the height. Somewhat heavier than an X-stand. Fitting the keyboard does require locating the groove in the bottom of the keyboard and placing it on the buttons on the top of the support, not difficult.
I have not needed to adjust the tension in the legs, but they provide the tool for that.
There might be a need for a wedge if the floor of the stage is too irregular.

            WINNER!

Comments about Quik-Lok M-91 Monolith Single-Tier Keyboard Stand:

This stand is a winner. The rocking and wobbling of X-type stands have driven me mad. I received this stand yesterday. It is rock solid. A little heavier than I imagined, but still very manageable and portable. The construction and grade of steel in this stand is unparalleled. I'm ordering 2 more, one for my church and one for my piano studio. Great value and great price, and free shipping, thanks Guitar Center.

            Solid, Attractive, folds flat

            By mark mann

            from Boise, Idaho

Comments about Quik-Lok M-91 Monolith Single-Tier Keyboard Stand:

Bought this stand because my X type stand was a little tippy especially on carpeted surfaces. X stand not so great for playing when seated but this one has space for knees and pedal without interference. This stand stays in place with much less movement than X stand. It is also more compact front to back than the X stand feet while providing greater stability. While the legs of the stand rotate in line with the back so the stand is flat for carrying or storage, they don't lock into place while folded so that a bungee while carrying would keep the legs folded. It looks killer when set up and improves the appearance of a keyboard setup dramatically. Much nicer to look at in the house as well as on stage.

The absolute best stand around!! Sets up in seconds with no guess work in desired height. Very sturdy - no shaking - great for heavier keyboards. Nice to have legroom - no more banging shin bones. A great purchase! I own two. Mark A. Gilroy

            FIRST RATE MOBILE STAND

            By Grumpyoldude

            from Oklahoma City, OK

Comments about Quik-Lok M-91 Monolith Single-Tier Keyboard Stand:

This stand has the quickest set-up/tear-down time of any I've ever used. I noticed a bit of lateral wiggle which would probably disappear with a heavier keyboard (I use a MO8), the width is not adjustable but inconsequential unless you're using something narrower than a Nord E261. The instructions that came with the optional second tier were a little confusing because the attachment screws were shown on the side of the main tier instead of on the bottom where they actually are. That turned out to be a non-issue because the tolerances are so tight that they aren't necessary - I had to assemble it with a rubber mallet. I have no plans to disassemble it, so it's not a big deal. If you need the second tier and need to remove it for transport, it could be a deal breaker. All things considered, a great buy if you need utility and speed.
