Quik-Lok Rapid Set Up Z Keyboard Stand (710040)
Availability:

Keyboard stand setup in a snap.

This keyboard stand's patent-pending "Z-structure" design sets up and folds down in literally 10 seconds flat. Height adjustment is a snap due to its spring-loaded, dual-pin system that instantly releases and locks the tiers into the desired height position. This Quik-Lok stand is great for tall keyboard players because of Z-71's maximum height of 39". There is absolutely no sacrifice for strength or stability because of this design; in fact, this is one of the sturdiest keyboard stands Quik-Lok makes.

  • Perfect for me

As reviewed by Greg Amburgy on 2/24/2010

I have an older Quik-Lok Z-Stand in my home studio. But it is cumbersome to set up. I wanted a similar stand that I could set up in under a minute. This thing takes about 30 seconds to unfold. It is very sturdy for players with a heavy touch. And I highly recommend going to Quik-Lok's web site to see all the accessories they have for this stand. I bought a mic boom that slides right into the side. I also bought a shelf that fits on the crossbar. I sit my mixer on the shelf and my whole rig is right there at my fingertips. The only drawback is that the stand is a little heavy. But it more than makes up for it with stability and ease of set-up.

Pros: This is STURDY. You can put a board on it and then stand on it. I think it could hold a few hundred pounds easy. I've had the X brace style keyboard stands in the past and this is no relation. This one means business. If you play keys like Jerry Lee Lewis you'll be fine. It folds pretty quickly. They say 10 seconds, another reviewer says 30 seconds. It takes me about a minute because it is so bulky. Still that is pretty fast considering its composition. Its not a crappy X brace. There are a few cool accessories you can buy that hook directly into this stand and turn it into a sweet workstation. Cons: You add all those cool accessories and then its not so mobile. It is heavy. If you're a slight person (say under 140 lbs) this thing could overpower you. You get stability but it comes at a price. It is massive in stature. Its just plain thick girders. If you are using this on stage fine but if you want to have this at home (like I do) its very commanding in a bad way unless your house is ultra modern. All in all I wanted a keyboard stand that wasn't crap since I was tired of owning a few that were. This is solid but maybe too solid for some.
