The QSC KSub Powered Subwoofer is the ideal supplement to QSC K Series 2-way speakers for live reinforcement of bass instruments and drums, or higher-level playback of recorded music. Its 1000W Class-D power module never fails to deliver. The KSub subwoofer's M20 threaded pole socket (pole included) provides a secure, wobble-free method of elevating a mid-high speaker over the subwoofer. The KSub subwoofer's compact footprint won't take over the stage, dance floor, or seating area of smaller venues. A pair of high-power 12" speakers in an optimized band-pass enclosure will handle everything the 1,000-watt power module can give them. Compact in size, the QSC KSub has ergonomically designed handles and 3" noise-free casters ease load-in and load-out.

1000 Watts is really loud. The bass from the KSUB sounds smooth and clear, with deep solid chest thumping hits. The dual 12" speakers inside really are amazing in how QSC managed to produce the powerful bass this sub gives. I bought this KSUB new from my local GC and in the pictures the casters are silver, but the cab i bought had BLK casters and they didn't rattle either when i tested the sub. I went straight home and set it up and was amazed. 18 inch subs produce a low frequency of 30 Hz, and this sub produces as low as 44 Hz. But 12's are punchier than 18's. The payoff for me in this sub is the full sounding bass of the KSUB and that it's light enough for me to lift and load alone. If you get an 18 in favor of a deeper 30 Hz bass, you'll definitely sacrifice the lightness and need a second person to help you lift it. PROS: It's very light (72 lbs.), it's compact, it sounds great, looks very professional, quality craftsmanship. I'm 100% satisfied. CONS: seriously no downside to this sub.

I bought one of these subs along with two k12's from my local guitar center. My overal first impressions of this sub was that it sounded good but didn't really have the output or the bottom end that I was expecting. So I bought another. 2 ksubs with the k12's mounted on top sounded great. I have used these for both DJ gigs and running sound for my Dad's band. After having these for about 6 months I finally decided that I wanted more and sold both of them and bought a KW181. Big difference. I can't wait to get another. The ksub's just simply don't have that impact that I was looking for. If your looking for chest thumping bass and you like QSC buy a KW181.

I have purchased two K12 and two ksubs in order to get chest thumping experience what some reviewer wrote here. All those speakers are connected to a brand new Allen & Heath Zed 12fx mixer. Now, I tried to play music with lots of drums in it from my iPad which is connected to mixer line with a 1/8 inch cord. I am not experiencing any special sound boom or nice bass out of KSUB. Those are just two big rocks for me. I called QSC but their tech support was useless and half of the time I had to repeat what I am saying. He definitely doesn't speak or understand English well. totally frustrated at this point. I am seriously considering to return these expensive KSUB rocks. Customer service lady Krista at Guitar Center, Cool Spring,TN was excellent.
I started out with just QSC K12's then purchased two QSC KW181's and while I love the thump, I wanted to go smaller and add to my list of QSC Speakers. So I purchased two QSC K8's and the KSub. My first gig was last Friday night and I was amazed at how well the sound filled the room. I do use a DBX DriveRack PX Powered Speaker Optimizer and I love it, simple one man operation that allows me to setup quickly and for A local hall that I work several times a year and it all fits in the Prius! I will get one more, just because I like the look of mounting the mains on top, but what an awesome sounding sub!
very compact and powerful! easy to use and it has very effective wheels so you are not carrying it!!! I recommend getting the cover/case to go with it!
I had a Harbinger powered sub that sounded killer for my band's live sound. I sold it and bought a Ksub because it weighed so much less. Worst mistake of my life. This speaker does not do live sound. When I play my ipod on breaks it sounds great but it simple does not reproduce live sound the way a front firing 18" speaker does. If I was a DJ, this would be the only sub I ever owned. I can easily load and unload it by myself and its plenty loud.
To those of you dissuaded by a couple of the negative reviews...please ignore them. I have a pair of K12's on top of two Ksubs...will soon be getting two K10's to use as floor wedges. We are a four piece wedding/corporate event band....and this set-up helped get us bigger money, many more referrals and better gigs in general. In fact, since purchasing all of this QSC gear we've also landed a booking agent and have already paid everything off plus some...only a couple months later. I'm not joking...I was surprised at the difference it made all around. It's an investment you only have to make once (6 year warranty!) Seriously professional quality sound...like a hi-fi home audio system only ON STAGE!!! I would rather bring my system to almost any venue than use the house system. The bass thumps (I'm also the bassist) and the kick drum kicks. When we play bumper music before or between sets it's funky and clear. Truthfully, it's a very balanced little system...and tear down and transportation is a snap. We get compliments about our sound, and it's just so clear that even at higher volume nobody is running for the doors...hard to explain, but it's a pleasant effect...the sound from this rig is just so clear. If you are a DJ playing blast beats down in the -35hz range, then maybe you should look into carrying around 4 18inch subs and a couple tops...but that's not our gig. We're a funky dance band and this system seems to have been specifically designed for our use.
i rented one of these for a live show i was putting on. We had a VFW with about 200people. This sub did not impress me, it has bass to rumble your chest, but no tone what so ever. We used this sub for kick drum, which was not that loud, and for bass drops (sample pad) All the mixes were ran through a mixer and compressor and crossover, and the sub still didnt have that punch that i usually get from my Yamaha Club Series 18in subs
QSC is and amazing company with excellent Pro Audio gear. The KSUB is a fantastic piece of equipment... IF... you're a band/musician playing small, indoor venues and would like to add some low end to your sound. I own a number of Yamaha DSR 15's and the matching 18" subs. I'm resident DJ at Havana House Whittier, a small indoor venue, and take my own sound. I got the KSUB hoping to leave it there so I wouldn't have to lug so much gear in every Saturday. Unfortunately, It puts out as much low end as one of my DSR 15's (I use three at H.H.). I gave it 3 stars 'cause it should've been advertised a little differently. It would've been helpful if G.C. & QSC would've marketed the KSUB to bands/musicians as it would be MORE than enough low end. If you're a DJ or play Electronic music and need your frequency range to go lower than say... and kick drum... then the KSUB is NOT for you. If you're willing to spend the cash and need reliable speakers that put out great sub base indoors and out... go with an 18" sub made by QSC, Yamaha, JBL, Yorkville or Turbosound!
I have (2) K-12's that I love but wanted additional bass for larger venues. I picked up the K-sub on clearance at GC and while its reliable and portable, it lacks the boom that a large, single woofer sub provides. What it does do (very well), is provide presence and support so the K-12's don't have to work as hard in DEEP mode. I'm planning to keep it and possibly buy a second so that both K12's can rest on the pole mount that the KSUB provides and provide additional presence. If cost and size are an issue the KSUB is a good value since a larger sub (like the KW181) is hundreds more and would take up the entire trunk. Not a bad purchase, overall.
I just wanted to i lovee this sub it's the best in my opinon it's like the apple ipod the price never change that much that's how you know it's the best. The reason i love this sub is b/c it looks simple and small, but don't thnik it wont throw down this thing will bring it,The bass i very nice for it's size and it's light compared to other subs that look big, that's why i love the ksub. But to rap it all up i think anyone that love bass or the is a Dj should get this b/c QSC is the best. And your guess will love the sound they hear!
bought this sub a few days after doing weeks of research. Picked this sub over the JBL's and glad I did! I dj house and dubstep music and the precision bass is what I needed! I dj last night and the bass was amazing and powerful! People were coming up to me and said they heard my music a few blocks away! Truly amazing sub!!!!
