The HPR153i 3-way loudspeaker is a great choice when the warmth, clarity and projection of a horn loaded, cone midrange system is desired. The 15" driver and larger enclosure volume provide extension down to 36 Hz making the HPR153i well suited for reinforcement of music with lots of low frequency content. Mids are handled by a 6" cone driver that seamlessly covers the critical vocal region. A 1.4" (diaphragm) compression driver delivers brilliant top end response. The 600 watt (400 LF/100 MF/100 HF) power module includes a 100 Hz high-pass filter for use in subwoofer-equipped systems.

  • Well Worth The Money!

As reviewed by DJ Apache on 3/7/2008

I was debating between the QSC HPR series or the JBL PRX series. I was initally drawn to the JBLs because of the Crown amps. I did a side by side series comparsion, both sounded great. The QSC just sounded better. Better built, more clarity, and with them giving a 6yr warranty it shows they believe in their product that much. Only downfall of the QSC vs. the JBL is that it is a little heavier. But in my case I wouldn't be carrying it alone so it didn't matter. And the QSC were even cheaper. When I finally hooked them up, my house was shaking. Great speakers for mobile DJ, Five Stars all the way. Great product, I love them. Thank you baby!

  • "BEST FOR LIVE BANDS"

As reviewed by UNCLE AL on 12/31/2008

I've always been an old school cat with the usual old school equipment. Peavey SP2X's , Ev 180B SUBS, MICROTECH 2400 power amp, etc. and a newly purchased QSC 4050. I had been thinking about going powered for awhile but always hesitated because while powered speakers seemed ok for DJ's, I never felt they could correctly satisfy the sound needs of a live band. Boy was I wrong! I did my research on Mackie and Jbl before deciding on QSC. A lot of bands and DJ's in my area are using Mackies and JBL's and while they sound good, they always seem to be straining when pushed. I also hear stories of blown Mackies even though these same people swear by them. well after reading all the reviews, the comparisions, the specs. and QSC's own claim that I'm officially out of excuses for not converting, I finally decided to just go for it. If I had to sum the results up in one word, that word would be INCREDIBLE! The sound quality, clarity and power all without distortion was way more than I could have ever expected. I didn't even have to turn them up too much, running them at 50% was completely sufficient. Oh, by the way I also purchased two QSC 181 subs to match. Same results! QSC's are so underrated. They are clearly the best powered speakers out there for live band applications. They are a lot heavier but they designed the cabinets in such a way to make transport easy. The subs have casters mounted on back. Oh, by the way, Their 6 year warranty doesn't hurt either. This system could handle allmost any gig we would ever have. highly recommended!!! 5+ STARS

  • QSC HPR153i ROCKS THE PARTY

As reviewed by Dj Decibel on 12/4/2009

Ive owned my QSC speakers for about a year now, I purchased 2 of the HPR153i's and 2 HPR18" Powered Subs to go with the HPR153i's. I stack the towers on top of the subs and out comes incredible sound! The HPR15's produce ear splitting sound thats super clean. The amps barely get hot and never clip/overheat.A great feature on these speakers is the 100Hz low cut filter which i use because i have the subs. It will save you from beating on the low range 15" speaker and still have plenty of pounding bass! Ive used em in clubs, bars, house party's ect... Rarely do i turn em up more than halfway. They run strong an loud all night long and toghether with the subs you have an amazing sound system. They are heavy (moving em takes two people or a hand truck) but also built really solid+strong. The warranty on them is excellent. I would reccomend them to anyone who needs a speaker system that runs loud from dusk till dawn! Ill b adding another sub and 3-way in the future. Ive also owned mackie subs/speakers and the sub blew on me twice. Dont waste your time/$ with the others, spend the extra $ and get a speaker that will last and have the police knocking on your door with a noise complaint!
