Overview

The Proline PL-AS adjustable amp stand is a rugged, all-steel stand designed to hold guitar amplifiers at the perfect height for stage use or in rehearsal or recording studios. A slight back-tilt aims your amp up toward your ears so that it can be heard clearly at lower volumes.

With 5 height settings from 16" to 24", the PL-AS amp stand also minimizes vibrations passed through wooden stages and floors, extending your amp's life. Cam-shaped leveling feet help to stabilize the ProLine amp stand on uneven floors and provide a non-slip grip.

Locking leg braces and safety pins for the upper supports give this amplifier stand the strength to safely hold up to 150lb. Finally, the upper amp supports have rubber pads to protect your amplifier's covering and to minimize vibrations.

When you're done, the entire amp stand breaks down into 3 pieces. The upper supports are hinged to collapse for easy transport. The ProLine PL-AS Adjustable Amp Stand's durable powder coat finish ensures that its looks stay good for years to come.

The Amp Stand was purchased as a gift (gift receiver had requested this item). The following review is a summary of his comments. The stand was the perfect size for his amp and the amount of room he had available. The improvement in the sound is incredible now that the amp is off the floor. The unit was easy to assemble and the quality met his expectations. I, as the giver, was pleased with the value of this item.

Pros: It was the only amp stand that I could find that fairly tall and could support the weight of a Roland KC-550 keyboard amp.
Cons: Contents were damaged. One of the knobs that secures the "L" bracket was bent and the tube the "L" bracket slides into was also bent. 45 minutes of bending things back into shape made it useable. I figured that it was easier to bend things back into shape rather than fuss with returning and waiting for a new shipment. No instructions were shipped, so I'm not sure if I have the security pins installed correctly. I haven't gigged with it yet, so I can't attest to it's reliability.

Well Worth It

By Tony V.

from Kansas City, MO

Comments about Proline PL7000 Adjustable Amp Stand:

I was the lucky recipient of this stand last Christmas. At the time, I had a VOX AD50VT 'Hybrid' amp, which is a fairly hefty amp at 50 lbs. Since then, I have upgraded to a VOX AC15 CC amp (also kind of hefty) and it fits the stand perfectly. More importantly, I can say to an absolute certainty that the difference between having the amp on the floor and having it on the stand is incredible - trust me when I tell you that it makes a HUGE difference in what I can only describe as "volumetric output." What was previously either bouncing around on a hard surface or being soaked up on a carpeted surface is now crystal clear and has actually allowed me to hear things more clearly. Construction is solid, assembly is easy and the stand also allows angle adjustments. It collapses quite readily to take up less space when transporting your gear, which is also a nice feature.

Dont buy for an open back amp

By Michael Kelly

from Weatogue, CT

Comments about Proline PL7000 Adjustable Amp Stand:

I purchased the stand before my amp was shipped, and the stand itself is just a fine piece of work, but the uprights are for a closed back amp, and my new GC Fender Mark IV amp has an open back and the stand cant support it, it wants to lean back and hit the inside speakers. I threw out the box, so now I cant return it to GC, and get a different model that is better able to accommodate my open back amp.

Comments about Proline PL7000 Adjustable Amp Stand:

Much better and more stable than using a makeshift prop. The amp is finally up off the floor (and the ground when playing outside) so I can actually hear it properly and make adjustments more readily. The lowest height setting is about right for my uses (practices and small gigs). It holds the amp very securely, even after the amp grew noticeably heavier with a twin-speaker upgrade. Added a gooseneck to the mic stand initially but then switched to a detachable amp clamp to keep the mic placement steady. Easy to set up and take down, and folds nearly flat for easy transport.

Just what I was looking for

    By Jim Derrickson

    from Chapel Hill, NC

Comments about Proline PL7000 Adjustable Amp Stand:

Most amp stands are angled back too far to the point where the amp is almost pointed at the ceiling, but this one has just a slight angle and the height can be adjusted nicely. I like having a little bit of the amp pointed into the room so you don't have to rely 100% on the sound man du jour to get your sound out in the audience (where it belongs). This baby fits the bill...5 stars.

      works for me

      By erik miller

      from Orange county CA

Comments about Proline PL7000 Adjustable Amp Stand:

Here's my use and take. I'm a bass player, I use it to get my Markbass 210 combo off the floor. Height is adjustable, tilt is not. Tilt doesn't bother me, it has about 2 degrees of tilt built in, which works perfect for me. I'm not measuring it, but it looks like the low height is about 2 foot, high adjustment is maybe 3 foot. Easy to assemble and set up, no tools required. Folds up for transport, or easy to break down to save even more space for transport. Pretty sturdy and stable. The only reason why this doesn't get 5 stars from me is because the build quality could be better. The vertical adjustment arms fit into another vertical piece and get set with a pin and and hand-bolt arrangement, which is super easy to set up and use, but my unit had a not quite right weld alignment for the bolt, meaning that instead of just sliding the piece in, I have to kind of pound on it to get it set up or broken down. Not that I have to use a hammer, just have to pound on it, one leg works perfect, the other needs a little pounding. I'm hard to please, so it loses a star because of this. Bottom line, I like it, it does everything I need, and thumbs up even with the minor quality issue. Good value for the dollars. And no matter what you play, bass, guitar, electronic keys, your going to really like getting your amp off the floor.

      Does the job

      By BRUCE KAY

      from Storrs, CT

Comments about Proline PL7000 Adjustable Amp Stand:

I got this because it's rated for 150 lbs., and my half-stack totals about 75. I would not put any more weight on it. It works fine, very easy to put together (no instruction provided, but none are needed, it's pretty obvious). I have no issues with the build quality unlike some other reviewers. It sure beats the box I had the stack up on.

Comments about Proline PL7000 Adjustable Amp Stand:

I am fairly well pleased with the amp stand. I haven't used it much yet, but it has screws attaching the vert and horiz legs that holds the amp...not sure why screw were used as opposed to a hard connection but perhaps I am missing something about the design that makes the screw connection purposeful, but I expect the screws will always need to be check/tightened. I also expect that the plastic knobs used to tighten the height adjustment screws will require me to be conscious not to over tighten them as I fear the may break I torqued too much. I will probably glue the rubber feet to the frame else I am quite sure they will slip off and get lost. Other than that the stand appears to be plenty functional and sturdy. The height adjustment range is completely satisfactory and the safety locking pins are a welcomed accessory. I think it is fine for the price but think that the small items I mentioned could have easily been addressed in the design by the manufacturer.
